Loved this chapter, what a wonderful, if unexpected, gift! Merlin is so fragile here, yet once again finding his inner strength. Leon earned some points for me, as I still couldn't forgive him for willing to abandon Merlin in season 4 for the sake of continuing with "the quest". Hope you'll continue writing! :D

Well that was nothing short of beautiful. Very sobering too. Merlin questioning his very purpose in surviving and Leon giving him just the support he needed at that moment. Yes very moving.

The imagery in this chapter was breathtaking. It was the perfect blend of soulful and sorrowful. A blind Merlin giving light to the love of his parents? Oh yeah, you do the whole heart breaking thing with such expertise that I don't even fault you for it anymore.
And this was the first time I realized that Lancelot never met Merlin's mom. She would have liked him, and the fact that there was someone who knew about her son and accepted him for who he is.

I love how you put an actual story that has to do with the Arthurian legend in this. Wonderful. Loved it! I also have a strong love for Merlin and Cabal's companionship. Its so great

His enthusiasm and eagerness to please were particularly endearing. He wonders if Merlin knows that they would bring him the earth and moon on a silver platter. Does he know? I mean in all the dark days after Blackheath when he's healing and then after Ealdor, does he know, that despite his mood swings and uneven temper, his friends will always stand by him no matter what? I would like to think he does.
Now I suddenly want to see snarky Merlin in a dark mood insulting everyone from Lancelot to Arthur to Gwen and biting all their heads off every chance he gets and all of them are still there, as resilient as ever at the end of the day; brushing off his apologies with wine and laughter. I'm demanding, and it's rude, but I really really can't get enough of this AU.

Hi, another update - careful, I am feeling spoilt and will expect it all the time...! Another wonderful insight into Merlins recovery period. Gwaine is so spot on in his description of Merlin and his character too. Loved it. Many many thanks.

This is soooooooooo sweet. I really feel for Gaius here. And have I told you how glad I am that your Arthur is a human being instead of a cold dick shown in most stories? He's adorable, and despite the fact that the story where the scene is from had me in messy tears, this scene had me smiling like an idiot.
If you're taking requests, can I humbly ask for a funeral scene for Merlin's mom? When he's back on his feet and his sight has returned, all of them go out into the forest and bury her there next to Balinor. Or something along that plot thread. I just want to cry a bit more I guess. :)
