However, since Merlin was sitting back, watching Arthur cook, he would have known it wasn't cooked very long. Freshly killed meat won't give food poisoning. The reason we get sick from meat from the supermarket is because it's been slaughtered weeks ago and left to start rotting and breaking down in the fridge or freezer. But you could get disease, parasites like fluke warms and tapeworms from undercooked freshly slaughtered game.
