I think the story with Shitwin (well found XD) and Eren isn't an illusion but the reality, and that Levi's now dreaming his past. But the way he's acting is very strange... He have a freewill, he can act with his him from the after in his past... Huh... What I'm saying isn't very clear, sorry -.-' So. I think it's the memory Levi in the present had lost, and that he's finding during his sleep.
