givemeawinchester chapter 25 . 5/1/2017 I can't put into words how much I loved this story. The ending was great and the "Rose's Law" had me tearing up a little. I love you're writing and am definitely off to read another one of your stories. |
ellie0wicklow chapter 25 . 3/13/2016 Hello! I just finished reading this story earlier today, and I absolutely loved it. It was smart and clever, brilliantly plotted and brilliantly researched. The character development was beautiful to behold, the prose was simple and snappy, and it left me with a delightfully bad case of the warm-and-fuzzies. I'm ashamed to admit that I left the story, beaming happily, without leaving a review. That was very rude of me. Of course I then clicked through to see what else you'd written- and that's when I stopped. Because it was YOU! You were the author of "Jack," the fic that sent me absolutely reeling a month or two ago, that made me shudder and gasp with every plot point like no other story has ever managed to do, and then finally left me nauseous with shock, hopelessly tapping the empty space where the 'next chapter' button ought to have been, my mind on a redundant loop of "that can't be it, that can't be it, come back here and fix them now you horrid author" until I was sniffling in public and I swore off DW fanfiction forever. (That prohibition lasted all of four days, but nonetheless. It was a very, very powerful story.) After this rather jarring discovery, I proceeded to read the "Weeds" series, which was just as wonderfully written as "Xeno" and "Jack," but once again amazingly different- wonderlandish and violent and optimistic and surreal, with more the feel of a Miyazaki film than of anything Steven Moffat's cruel but seemingly linear mind could spawn. (Except the ending, which was very Moffat.) So here I am, marveling at your flexibility and diversity as a writer, at your command of language and character and most especially plot, and at your ability to completely dominate whatever mini-genre you choose, shattering readers of "Jack" and warming readers of "Xeno" and enthralling readers of "Weeds." I really don't know how you do it, but it is- to borrow a phrase from a mutual friend- absolutely fantastic. Sorry for the lengthy, rambling review, but I thought that merited some extensive praise. You are really an incredible writer. I hate you for the ending of "Jack," and I adore you for the ending of "Xeno," and I wish you every happiness because you've taken me on three astounding literary journeys already, which I never expected on this of all websites. Thank you. |
Heather Snow chapter 25 . 3/9/2016 Read this first on AO3. Great idea that was really well executed. |
NerdInABlueBox chapter 25 . 11/26/2015 This story was AMAZING! No kidding, really enjoyed it. I love your writing, sooo keep at! |
Stormcutter684 chapter 25 . 11/16/2015 Wow! What a crazy story! Crazy, but good! The world finds out about the Doctor, and aliens! And that evil, stupid, son of a Dalek Stein! Torturing the Doctor? All because he's alien! I hate that guy. And finally he healed! It took so long! He learned how to speak properly and also got his time sense back! Yes! What a fantastic story. I love it. Very creative and even though this story was a little hectic, you managed to keep it on track and keep everything in order. A wonderful story! |
ThePro-LifeCatholic chapter 25 . 10/3/2015 I read this entire thing in one sitting. ... A long sitting... This was a very well-done angst fic. It wasn't out of character, didn't sink to cliche or sap; your style is beautiful and informative. People's emotions were expressed rather well, and the twists and turns you had thrown into the narrative kept me reading until the ending! Not much to say other than that it's a beautifully written story. And I love Emma, by the way. ;) I could totally see her as a character in the show. The amount of research and everything too...just a wonderfully well-structured, believable fic that I could see as an episode. Moto Bene, and keep writing! |
AliciaRoseFantasy chapter 24 . 6/28/2015 I also love the Doctor's speech to the evil doctor/scientist guy at the end. It was actually rather moving and somewhat inspiring :) ( sorry wouldn't let me put two reviews on the same chapter ) |
AliciaRoseFantasy chapter 25 . 6/28/2015 Hey, I absolutely LOVED your story! Excellent work :D I love your take on the Doctor being in a very different position to normal, being injured and totally alien to everyone else. I found it very interesting :) Well done :) Thought that ending with the Doctor visiting Emma afterwards was a very nice touch too. Made me smile :) |
Person chapter 25 . 5/22/2015 That... Was amazing. Wonderfully done! Great plot, beautifully written, quite emotional! I seriously clapped after I finished reading it. Overall, I'd say this is absolutely... BRILLIANT! |
SheaTSarc chapter 25 . 3/19/2015 That was wonderful! Thank you for sharing that awesome story. And you ended it with Douglas Adams! I love you! |
ohmycroft chapter 25 . 3/5/2015 THIS. WAS. THE. BEST. THING. I'VE. EVER. READ. YOU. ARE. A. GENIUS. |
Guest chapter 15 . 3/1/2015 Oh my God, I want someone to punch Stein in the face already. I was surprised it wasn't him who was the alien in disguise. Why does he seem to enjoy torturing the Doctor so much? |
Guest chapter 6 . 3/1/2015 Noo! I hate how stupid and obstinate the doctors are being, especially to someone who's saved the human race countless times, and they're cataloging him and showing him off like a pretty museum piece. I hope Martha and the others get to him soon. |
