Carrie! I wasn't expecting to see her here. Yay. And I finally know what the sheeets are about now. Makes me want to get one for myself :P

I don't think I get to see Kono very often, but the short exchange she had with Catherine really felt like her. The wink, too. Totally Kono.

I'm glad you had Steve not notice the sheets softness at first, because I can see him not noticing the first time around. But then later, sensory overload, that was a nice touch.

You do a great job of raising the heat between the two of them in subtle ways. Your description and dialogue is nicely balanced. I think that's one of your strengths in writing. :)

Oh my goodness what a FANTASTIC story this is! Soooooo much FUN! I absolutely ADORE this! I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing this little slice of their everyday life. It is an AMAZING and ENTHRALLING view of the depth of their relationship as well as their friendship. J'ADORE.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Steve picking up on the first ring, the concern in his voice, his immediately suggesting she stay at Carrie's. SO SWEET. And such a FANTASTIC view of the depth of their relationship. LOVE that he seemed less tense as soon as he knew she was safe and wouldn't be out in the storm.

Weirdly I enjoy doing laundry but man I can see where just dropping off your dirty clothes and picking them up later cleaned and folded-AWESOME!

LOVE Cath sending Cammie to get Steve so he won't be suspicious SO MUCH!

Catherine smiling from beside the bed is SO SWEET. LOVE that she wants him to like the changes.

ADORE him wrapping his arm around her then walking to look at the changes in the bathroom. So SUBTLE but so BEAUTIFUL!

LOVE her encouraging Steve to feel the sheets. And that she takes off his shirt to make sure he gets the full effect and how that seamlessly leads to a pile of clothes on the floor. PERFECT. So ADORABLE!

LOVE LOVE Steve admitting she was right and then Catherine wanting her turn on the bottom. So FUN and PLAYFUL and such a great view of their relationship.

LOVE the everyday BEAUTY of the scene on the beach. Cammie playing fetch. The two of them eating. NICELY DONE!

OMG I ADORE the discussion of all the different less than perfectly comfortable places they've had sex. SPECTACULAR! Fell out of the hammock Heh. Humvee. Supply shed. Kitchen table. Mile high.. Waterfall. Washing machine. Car. Adirondack chair. AWESOME!

And then the absolute PERFECT ending-

OH! Just SO many things I love about this story! It's a fun, sexy romp (literally) with our favorite couple, we meet Carrie in person, and, of course, sheeeeeeeeets! Best cameo of an inanimate object in a McRoll story since the chocolate sauce :-).

I could go on and on about my love for this story. And I think I will.

I absolutely adore Carrie - not only as a fantastic character, but the potential she has as Cath's closest girlfriend and as an outside viewpoint on the Steve/Cath relationship over the years. It's so clear in the opening scenes why she and Cath are such good friends. Her sense of humor aligns so well with Catherine's and there is such a wonderful shared history there. So glad she's on the island now!

Cath's first reaction to the sheeeets - "Oh. Ohhhh." I remember mine being *very* similar :-)

"Tell me it's not like sleeping on a cloud." Hee! I remember that, too!

"it's sixteen years later and we're *still* talking about what color sheets you'd get if you shared a bedroom with Steve McGarrett." - Hee! Again, absolutely ADORE Carrie! Particularly as she followed that line up with the fact that Steve wouldn't care if the sheets were "cammo, My Little Pony, or there at all" as long as Cath was in his bed naked. Awesome, awesome job!

Love that you included a scene with Cath and Kono. Got a feeling Adam's gonna love the sheeeets, too :-). And love Kono's parting, "Enjoy your weekend, Boss." :-)

Wonderful job showing how they share their domestic duties - whether it's with Cammie or laundry, cleaning, etc. Perfectly in character.

Hee! Love Cammie being so curious about Catherine's activities that she doesn't go immediately to greet Steve until Catherine entreated her to :-)

Excellent job with Steve's reaction to the new linens, etc. Appreciative of Cath's taste and her desire to surprise him, but not an out-of-character over-reaction. Perfectly done.

And then Steve feels the sheeeets. Perfect puzzled reaction. "Uh, they're . . . nice?"

Oh! Love Cath pulling off his shirt so he can get the "full effect" :-). And of course Steve is perfectly happy with this direction of the conversation.

Great post-coital physical details - Cath kissing his shoulder, Steve moving a hand from her back to feel the sheeeets before back to her hip for figure-eights

"We have more of these?" - Still one of my favorite lines in the piece (which is saying a lot) - I can absolutely see his face as he says this :-)

Then Cath flipping them, having graciously given Steve first crack, she wants her turn :-)

And then that FANTASTIC final scene as they reminisce about some memorable . . . encounters. :-)

Probably my favorite exchange is about the hammock - with Catherine reminding him they fell out and Steve automatically countering "Only on that first try" and insisting that it still counts. Of course Catherine knowing he's calculating according to some "McGarrett Rule" - Love the return of the McGarrett Rule system :-)

"Didn't hear you protesting, McGarrett." "And you never will." I should hope not :-)

Love how the conversation evolves so organically - it's very clear where it's leading, but it builds so beautifully through both words and actions. Amazing job with the verbal and physical foreplay.

"You know how I feel about tiny blankets and sand." Heh. And how.

Absolutely nothing not to love in this one. This is a joy and a delight to read from start to finish. Spectacularly spicy with the wonderful reminder of our favorite couple's long history and the absolute pleasure they take in being together.

Even when approaching a completely domestic situation such as selecting bedding into such a wonderful moment for our favorite pair. It's beautiful to read about their friends and memories. Oooh, that was definitely a really "moving" story for a Friday's evening :D I just adore the simple, but so playful, sparkling fics. Showing us the constant, never fading attraction between Steve and Cath.

Just as emotional and deep bond are important, the physical aspect is also valuable. It builds a relationship too. It's great to know, how over all those years, the attraction never even lowerd. Quite the contrary, your story shows that it's as intense and magnetic, even more so. Because the trust, closeness and love make it so special and sparkling.

I love how you portrayed Steve as a man, who even though he can be a bit clueless and oblivious sometimes, notices changes and the effort Cath put into something so domestic, liek changing the sheets and curtains :) Because it matters to him too! Not on the level of "we need a new comforter", but to know and see, that Catherine is really treating it as her own home. She's nestling, building a place for both of them, maybe for their future family. And Steve definitely deserves and needs to feel this kind of stability, even if for others it might seem boring.

As for the palette of places they've had sex... well, it does not surprise me :) and I'm sure that even now they tend to do some crazy things. No one will convinve me that they never had sex in hq, hah ;)

Sorry you were having a bad day because this story just made mine so much better. Now all I can think about is where I can buy these wonderful sheets because they have to have come from personal experience. This is one of the most romantic stories I have read in well, a long long time. Love Love Loved it.

Sounds like a very nice, relaxing day for our fav couple. As for the sheets, I too recently purchased some microfiber sheets in dark blue. They are incredibly soft but also very slithery, my covers keep sliding off the bed. Unfortunately I do not have a Super Seal to explore the deep blue depths looking for me.
