This was so cute! Mermaid AUs are one of my favorites! It was so cute to see them together on the island, and how they fell in love. The reason Dave was on the ship was a really good twist!

Dang, one heck of a story you got there! I'm pretty new to Homestuck, but seeing my newest favorite character (John Egbert) as a wind spirit (A nice nod to the original webcomic) and my second fave character (Jade Harely) as mermaid (Though I don't really like them, but this story made her into one nicely!) was a great idea!

This story portrays the characters in a new, exciting way. I have great difficulty finding flaws in grammar, spelling, pacing, dialogue, or any other aspect of the writing. Based on this as well as the author's magestuck story, Dreams and Darkness, I can say that not only is the author phenomenal, but rather inspiring. A tip of my cap to you, A Dreaming Songbird. May your writing continue to amaze.

Storm spirit suits John so well and I really like how you described him in the first chapter during the storm, with his clothes and stuff. An that his skin changes to grey according I the clouds he represents, that is some pretty sweet stuff! :)

Also, mangoes, love them. Mmmmm I want mangoes. Damn you winter, can't have them now :C
