| blackesparrow chapter 19 . 7/8 Fun fact: did you know that the reason we use “ye” as old-time speak is because the word “the” was originally written with a character called thorn, “þ”, and when the English language became more standardized and the thorn was dropped from use, “y” was the closest letter we had so it was substituted. But “ye” was still pronounced “the”, it just got misinterpreted after generations of different spellings. Cool huh? |
