I would first like to say I love your story but just need to correct that dicks last name is Casablancas not Casablanca.

That, I think, was the perfect Mac reply to Dick's statement at the end about loving her! I really like that, "give me time..."

Wow an action story with Mac/Dick. It's great! Dick acting like a hero and keeping care of Mac. Nice to read.

I agree totally with your Mac interpretation in your author notes. One of the (many!) things I absolutely LOVE about Mac is that she's got 'shades of gray' for sure, but she's also got a very well-defined moral compass, she'll break laws (gray area) but only when the means justify the ends. There are just certain lines she will NOT cross, like when she wanted to date Max in s3 but was still with Bronson. She refused to even have breakfast with him until she broke up officially with Bronson.

Poor Mac, losing her apartment and almost losing her cat, too. I can see her not wanting to sit idly by when her cat was lost and scared. Dick being afraid of cats cracks me up! Poor Mac, I can see why she thinks she's 'psycho nip,' she does seem to draw that element. Glad Dick is in therapy, I liked that touch.
