Rookblonkorules chapter 6 . 4/29 I think that this was an absolutely wonderful conclusion. The exploration of loss and the cost of victory really stood out to me. Yes, they stopped Voldemort, but the cost was so many lives. People that Harry knew personally. Being a hero sometimes comes at a high personal cost. You lose family, friends. Harry's reminding me of Jake a bit here. Of course, Harry has Steve in this story to be there for him and he also has Ron and Hermione and he's going to need every ounce of their support. The bit about Steve coming there because he was afraid he might have lost Harry was such a beautiful touch. I'm so glad that Harry realized that. He needs to know that there are people out there that would care if something happened because that makes all the difference. |
Rookblonkorules chapter 5 . 4/27 The idea of an owl dropping unannounced into Stark International definitely gave me a chuckle. I suppose it was less funny for the board members though. It's always sweet to see positions reversed and the protector becoming the protected. I wonder what the motivations behind Captain America's capture were and who was doing the capturing. Probably some of that is do to my fandom blindness. |
Rookblonkorules chapter 4 . 4/24 The fight scene was excellent! Descriptive and yet suspenseful. You managed to capture a lot in just a few short paragraphs. And again, even with my fandom blindness, this villain was pretty intimidating. Harry's relief when Steve showed up with the rest of the Avengers was well-founded! |
Rookblonkorules chapter 3 . 4/24 I'm wondering who the enemy Steve is talking about is here, though that's probably in part due to my partial fandom blindness. It says a lot about how much Harry must have meant to Steve that he would come to see him when he's supposed to be dead- but it's exactly the kind of gesture that he would make. And Ron's surprise that Harry actually knows a real life superhero is understandable. I wonder what his reasons for not telling Ron about Steve were- maybe it was just something he wanted to keep to himself. A little special and private something. Excellent chapter! |
Rookblonkorules chapter 2 . 4/13 So his aunt and uncle destroyed his mail? That's so sad. I'm loving the relationship between Harry and Steve. It's so warm and soft and Steve is this support for Harry where he has none. It's so pure. |
Rookblonkorules chapter 1 . 4/12 I'm not familiar with Harry Potter- or at least I'm as unfamiliar with it as it's possible to be when it's practically everywhere, lol! But I didn't have any trouble following this. Ah, the cruelty of children... Dudley sounds like a little baby monster. And that image of Steve emerging from the mist to untie Harry feels like it's straight out of a comic book. I loved it! Steve's humility is really showcases here, which I adore. Also, just how gentle he is with this kid. His promise to Harry that he would never forget him is precious- and how lucky Harry is to have Captain America for a penpal! This was adorable and sweet. Loved it! |
sofiabella chapter 6 . 3/23/2018 Wow, this story was amazing and so moving. I am a bit emotional right now! I loved the friendship between the two heroes who had enough pain between them to last several lifetimes. |
