I’ve read this three times and I always either hate it or love it. You really played with my feelings. I hate Rumlow so much and nothing could ever make me feel anything good for him except this. I cried at that ending .

Good story! I like your view on Rumlow's character. Your stories are always so well done even when they are short. I love your attention to detail! 3 It'd be interesting if they go that direction in the movies. In the comics Crossbones is a complete psychopath serial killer who loves what he does. In the movies, his character came off like he could go the way you write him, which would be a more interesting way.

I do like it! I want more interactions between Rumlow and the Soldier, your right that you kind of want to like him!

Awe... I've wondered about this too. Run low seems like he could be an okay guy if he tried.

It's funny how Rumlow is so loyal to HYDRA...yet he's visibly very uncomfortable about the treatment of the Winter Soldier.

Pierce, on the other hand, has his business card say "ASSHAT FOR HIRE!"

I like your exploration of morality here. As you noted in the top A/N, things are often much more complicated than black and white.

Some of the best villains are charming and nice at times-Stoker's Dracula, Hannibal Lecter, and the Master on Dr Who are just three examples right off the top of my head.
