Short but powerful. I love this. Especially the i knew when Al tried his best not to make a sound. I like that attention to detail. I guess if you know youre about to be murdered, your senses are heightened and you become hyper-aware of everything.
Anyways, nice job! This is an interesting idea, that Fredo is not THAT much of a dumb nut to not know that he was about to die the moment they called the son away and Al stepped into that boat with him.

After all, Fredos lived his whole life surrounded by mobsters, cold blooded killers. He would know the signs of an upcoming hit, and its sad that he knows that this one is coming, but doesnt do anything to stop it. Like he knows its inevitable, and that maybe he doesnt want to be in this world anymore. A world where a brother has hardened to the point where he could kill his own blood.
