Reviews for Cause and Effect
Fyreheart chapter 1 . 9/30/2016
I was surprised to see tinnitus brought into the story. I've had it my entire life and never knew it wasn't normal to always hear a high-pitched whine until I was an adult. Some days it's so loud I unconsciously raise my voice to be heard over it. Other days I can ignore it entirely. It was very interesting to see how Sherlock's character would react to non-stop noise.

Rima-seeks-solace-in-words chapter 1 . 10/2/2014
I like the idea of John's inner blog.
stoertebeker chapter 1 . 9/21/2014
Wonderful story again, Kerkerian! I like those stories where their relationships build up slowly or where they realize their feelings for each other due to special circumstances. The special thing about your story is, it ends where others might beginn, I enjoyed it very much.
Vivi-ntvg chapter 1 . 9/14/2014
This is really sweet. I only ask for one thing: since this is set before Reichenbach, please DO NOT go there. Please.

Thoroughly enjoyed this!
AnythingBut chapter 1 . 9/14/2014
I remember tinnitus from my disco-going days, that was bad enough. Poor Sherlock, I'm (as ever) just glad he's got John!
This is such an endearing story, and it could have happened like that! Wait- it didn't happen, did it. Shoot. I wish it would, and I wish you'd write the script!
Gameson221b chapter 1 . 9/14/2014
Nice, easy unfolding of your story. John and Sherlock are sweet and a bit testy now and then, just as they should be. It makes them all the more lovable and human.

Ah, yes, tinnitus, I know it well. Recurring for me, but not constant, yet.

Loved your author's comment...I, too, am very glad you didn't shoot him. Besides, no one does illness better than Sherlock Holmes.
Thanangst chapter 1 . 9/14/2014
This is a delightful story, loving and tender and in-character all through. Lovely how you ease them into affection with the bed scene, and the gradual acknowledgment of their feelings for each other.

And the tinnitus is right on; poor Sherlock, having the added 'noise' to plague his over-active, clamoring brain would be quite a challenge, indeed! (I have Meniere's, which involves intermittent tinnitus and vertigo-no fun, and can make you want to decapitate yourself when it's flaring.)

"Darling." Ah, so endearing!

(In short, I LOVE this little tale, and sincerely wish for more. And you *can* shoot him, too-H/C is my passion...vulnerable Sherlock and caring Dr. John...) :-)
BoleynOrWhat chapter 1 . 9/14/2014
You never disappoint, this is lovely and well-written as usual! Thank you!
Firefly-ish chapter 1 . 9/14/2014
Oh, they are so cute together! I love how Sherlock talks John awake!
Since I am prone to having trouble with my ears as well, I know how poor Sherlock felt, and I think you described the situation very vividly.
Thank you for another little gem!
