Sarai chapter 28 . 6/22/2015 Awesome! What movie! |
Elephanza chapter 28 . 11/17/2014 This is the best ending ever! As much as I didn't want it to end, I couldn't wait for you to say "Home is a Heartbeat." I loved that title from the start and it was so clever how you tied it in with the baby's heartbeat. I hoped they would get pregnant but I thought it was kind of a stretch, but perfectly possible:) I've spent my fair share of time on Wikipedia's "Oldest women to have given birth" page for one reason or another. Amazing writing throughout! Beautiful best man speech from a completely changed man. Their marriage and parenthood will be blessed. Thanks for this story! |
Elephanza chapter 27 . 11/13/2014 I'm so happy that the words "the end" did not finish this chapter! Such an amazing continuation. Loved the language you used here. Thaddeus reading Crystal's thoughts made me happy. You really redeemed him but I can't help but sense some trouble on the horizon... |
Elephanza chapter 26 . 11/9/2014 Aw that was such a descriptive wedding chapter! Loved it. So happy to see Eddie back with Carlotta. The line about dogs being guests at weddings in Gene Autry town suited her. Sounded like such a picture perfect wedding. They sound like young newlyweds so it was a little hard to picture them at the age we left them in the movie. Perfect dialogue between Eddie and Thaddeus before the wedding; it was funny how they wondered who would be the next troublemaker in town! Amazing writing! |
Elephanza chapter 25 . 11/6/2014 I love this chapter! First few lines were just great! Also love how Crusher missed Thaddeus! Glad they are getting married. The funniest bit was when Thaddeus thought how preachers made him uncomfortable, and said it would be much easier to just slug one. HAHA. Then it was so great he gave himself to Christ and got baptized! Amazing chapter, can't wait for the wedding. |
Elephanza chapter 24 . 11/3/2014 Sweet as honey. Thanks for continuting this:). Love Thaddeus' reasoning behind going to church; he's tried everything else, what has he got to lose? Great proposal and everything! Can just picture the sweetness! |
Elephanza chapter 23 . 10/29/2014 I opened up the notification for this chapter and it said 5,000 words! I was so surprised and happy:) You fit the whole movie into this chapter! I loved your take on the humor and their private thoughts. Lovely how your 22 chapter backstory fits in so well with this. One funny line I loved was "Judge could hold a grudge." Haha. Then I was absolutely moved by Crystal's conversation with God in the field. So interesting how she likened Thaddeus leaving to the pain God felt when she strayed away from him. I also liked the scene where she spoke to the congregation. Amazing interpretation of the movie, but also great creativity! |
Elephanza chapter 22 . 10/26/2014 Haha, mice for Judge! Can't believe Crystal almost married that guy! It's interesting that Thaddeus would think of how his life would have been if his parents were around. Also I loved your description of the church ladies whining about their husbands. So funny, yet ironic; I can imagine Crystal's mixed up feelings at that point. Mrs. Bea seems like such a sweet woman:) |
Elephanza chapter 21 . 10/22/2014 Love Homer and Jethro as names for the horses!:) Makes me think of Johnny's monkey and parrot. Also this chapter was so bittersweet, loved it! I liked Thaddeus' thoughts when he thought about why some men got married. Also the "Happy Birthday Princess cake" was so cute! Thank you, can't wait for more! |
Elephanza chapter 20 . 10/19/2014 Great writing! It takes a lot to get me really annoyed at Thaddeus and you did it. I don't know if that was your intention but this sure got me steamed at him. Crystal is just so dang in love with him. I know he doesn't take it for granted but still. That song reminding him of Crystal?! You better watch it, boy! That's what I want to tell him. What song is that? That would be funny if it was a Johnny Cash song and here I am asking you what song it is. Did you write it? Either way, I think he should do more than just be grateful she loves him... Thanks for this long chapter! |
Elephanza chapter 19 . 10/16/2014 This was an amazing chapter. They just keep improving! It was so funny that Eddie hid behind the nurse's desk! But also, most importantly, I loved Crystal's internal conflict here. I wonder if she will convince Thaddeus and herself enough to change. Probably not, as shown in the movie. But I just can't wait to see what you do with it next :) |
Elephanza chapter 18 . 10/14/2014 Lol, Crusher! What a great name. I liked the analogy Crystal made that the dog should be named Thaddeus because he was already itching to get out. I wish he wouldn't take these as a joke and shape up! I was a hopeful as Crystal in the beginning that he was going to make a certain offer. |
Elephanza chapter 17 . 10/12/2014 This is so sad but makes so much sense with the movie! I just realized that JK is actually the judge in the movie! Lol. He was such a funny character but your backstory makes the rivalry between him and Thaddeus even more believable. I liked the phrase "drunk as a skunk." Poor everyone. Nice chapter! |
Elephanza chapter 16 . 10/9/2014 Wow thank you for this long emotionally packed chapter! It's really amazing; I kind of thought they might actually get married and then split. It's so sad how they keep going around in circles, but you write it beautifully. I liked the phrases "unnatural concentration" and "infernal time warp" toward the end; they really added to the drama. |
Elephanza chapter 15 . 10/7/2014 Hi! This chapter was a perfect blend of funny and emotional. It was hilarious when Eddie said "Isn't that a felony?" to Thaddeus's suggestion of kidnapping Crystal. The tension was building and I kind of feel bad for both of them, but it is right on par with the movie. Especially when Crystal said, "They're like a couple of teenagers!" So true! |
