I LOVED THIS! After that s$!tstorm that was season 4, this was just what I needed!

Wow. This took me on such an emotional rollercoaster and was such an amazing story! Loved every second of it - even the angsty parts where I just wanted to shake Veronica's shoulders to make her see sense!

Oh my! I just binged this today because by Ch 5 I was bawling my eyes out and I needed to see where it ended. This was so good! I'm not usually a super angsty fic reader but once I started I just couldn't stop. Great job!

This story is simply incredible and I am so glad I saw it recommended on Twitter because I’d missed it when it was first published. Great writing, great plot, I loved it all - I added it to my favorites after a single chapter! Thank you so so much for the effort you poured into this.

Maybe it's weird to review a story that's a few years old but I just wanted to let you know how much I loved it. As I'm sure you know, there is a wide variety of writing talent in the fan fiction pool but you are fabulous. Please keep writing and sharing!

Great story I love could not stop reading it

I've been reading this over the last day or so. It's just so darn sweet! The mafia bit and the baby bit, I felt the heartache there, and the shock and horror (mafia). It all played out in my head really well as I was reading it, there were no mistakes. Can't wait to find the next story on your list!

The first time I found about this fic, I didn't want to read it :). I don't read fics that are angsty and long, and my first impression was that this was both and I wasn't going to be able to deal with it. Time passed and a writer here in FF was sending me messages and among them she recommended several fics, this fic was one of them. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure if I could read any of the angsty fics. So I took a sort of cowards way out and read all the comments of each chapter first, so I would know what would happen. Again, my impressions didn't change and decided that I was too busy anyway for long fics. I would try later.
Fast forward to last friday when I gave it a go, and I felt like my heart was breaking in a million pieces (such a drama queen :D). My God! I cried so much, I didn't know if I could be able to finish it. I was sooo sad for them, you wrote it beautifully, even when I knew it was coming (I remembered the spoilers), I still felt everything. No kidding, all saturday I was scared of continuing, I didn't felt like I could take it :). But I did. And if at the beginning I felt like I couldn't finish it, by sunday I was certain I could re-read it again (at some not so near future :D). To anyone like me, maybe there's few of us, that feels like they can't read angsty fics, yes this one is heartbreaking, but it's so wonderful, so worth. There's heartbreak, but there's also a beautiful story of reconnecting and daring to love again, interwove with a very amusing plot to con a man that had it coming :D. The character development of Logan and Veronica, their relationship in the bad and tragic times, and the good ones is so perfectly described, you want to help them, you want them to stop suffering, and yet you understand why they are acting and doing what they feel they must do.
Those are my feelings :D. But now onto the fic itself. The use of all the secondary character is glorious, even better than the movie. It's more than a cameo, they have importance to the story. They have grown, they are more mature, they have different relationships than in the movie, and yet all of this feel like the natural progression of the characters. Mac, Wallace, Dick, Weevil, Leo, Keith and Alicia are back, and they are perfect in here. Their relationships specially with Veronica and Logan are beautiful, giving them their friendship and love when they need them, supporting even when they might not agree with them, and wanting them to be happy, wanting what's best for them even when they don't see it themselves. They really see Logan and Veronica, and their changes and see what makes them the happiest.
Now for the original characters :). Evie is wonderful and fabulous, I see her as a Lilly type that got the chance to grow up :). She is great and amusing, and I love that her sense of right and wrong let her help Veronica and help the whole gang when they needed her. I love that we got to see what happened after everything they went through. I love that the experience let her found a familly :). As for Matthew, yes I could see why a Veronica that doesn't want to feel would be with a man that can't provoke any emotion (whether love or anger or specially sadness) from her. Honestly, I enjoyed all that happened to him, because I felt to angry that he would put Veronica's life in such a danger. So inconsiderate! And he also put at risk her job (the workaholic in me felt so offended by this part x.x!). I'm glad he got to pay (not with his life, thankfully, the guy is not evil, just an asshole) by having lost the control of his work. Maybe one day he'll find a way to get out of such a life.
Finally, Veronica and Logan. All the pain they went through, I cried so much for them. I wanted them to be so happy and they couldn't. Veronica couldn't deal with so much happiness taken so suddenly and left only with so much pain. So she ran and hid from her feelings and what she wanted. We got to see her in her life, being happy and fulfilled with her job, but hiding her emotions and choosing an unemotive personal life. Her character arc, from feeling she wants this lack of love and passion in her life, to realizing that what she wants is to love and be loved by Logan is so perfect here. The growth of ther character, and how after everything she realizes that she must stop running from what she wants, it's just, wow. Amazing. I cried so much with V, got frustrated by her even when I understood why she was doing it, and I got immensely happy when she finally figured it out and let herself be happy again. And Logan, his growth and maturity, and this never ending love he always has for Veronica is so inspiring. How he wants her to be happy, how he puts her before himself, how even after years of not talking to her, of being alone in their mutual tragedy, he doesn't ever blame her and he never stops loving her. He is perfect for her, as she is for him, and they both are flawed and a little broken, but together they are beautiful, and this fic just shows this.
Congratulations to the author for such an amazing fic. You managed to make me, a self professed non-angsty fic reader (I know I'm missing out) love this fic so much. It's beautiful, the characters and their arcs are so perfectly written, the plot is heartbreaking, amusing, fun and exciting, and the ending is so worth it. Thank you so much for this work :D.

So amazingly well done, but so heartbreaking there are parts I can only skim through.

I did not review this the first time I read it (my apologies), but I did add it to my favorites list. It was the first fanfic I added to my favorites list! This story just pulls the emotion from me. Tears. Smiles. Warm fuzzies. Even on a reread I needed a box of tissue handy. It is such a good story. Well planned, well executed. The incredible loss in part one bookended with great hope in part two. I agree with other reviewers that a follow-up story would do my heart good! Veronica's growth and Logan's steadfastness are beautifully portrayed. Thank you for sharing your talent!
