Eomer and Lothiriel had a rocky start in their marriage, with noone making it easier for the other. After much time, a loss of a child, a mistress and royal duties, they managed to find true happiness and keep it. The sidestory of Amrothos and Dernhild was nice. I liked the epilogue with the grown up children of all of them.

I refuse to believe that Eomer is not even a little bit angry at Lorithiel's family for being so against him.

From the beginning the only person who was on Eomer's side was Eowyn, but now he has no one. His love to lorithiel is blind. Eomer has an affair and people treat him as if he is the next dark lord. The poor lad needs a break.

In every single drama that crops up in this fic, Eomer is ALWAYS on the defensive. It really suck to see an amazing warrior full of pride brought so low by this author.
Everybody is willing to back up and support Lothiriel whereas Eomer has no one.
Eomer is a human and is a king. He has gone far and beyond to make his relationship with Lorithiel work out. All that he got in return was be abused by people because he could not act as the perfect human being as everyone wants him to be. I feel for Eomer so much.
I really wish i could have read Eomer give reasons for why he was forced into taking a mistress. But all he did in this chapter was take abuse. Rohirrim are said to be full of pride. The Eomer that i am currently reading has none that i can see and i feel this is a grave injustice to his character.

I am in no way condoning what he did, but i have to stress that he has never had a single negative thought towards Lothiriel and he is very accomodating towards her. Eomer does not deserve to be treated so basely by his in-laws.

I guess I do accept Lothiriel’s reasoning for staying with Eomer

It sounds to me that Eowyn is partly so angry with her brother because she at first felt that Eomer should find a way to cast Lothiriel aseiden and then after Eomer convinced her that Lothiriel truly was good for her brother and Rohan, then Eomer went back on his word to Eowyn of wanting Lothiriel to be part of their family (him and Eowyn)

I don’t know if Eomer getting sick is a good or a bad thing. Hopefully it will let Lothiriel get her bearings and authority back, but it seems in some ways it might be the last straw to break her loosing the baby, loosing her husband’s respect and then maybe loosing her husband all together

I hope Eomer and Lothiriel will get people on their side in Edoras. Sometimes 2 against the world just is not enough, you need at least occasionally a little help from outside. Even if it is just small things like a smile from a cashier at Walmart

You have digged a very deep hole for Eomer. Right now I find no reason to think that Lothiriel should ever trust Eomer again and I hope you find a way to tell the story so that if Lothiriel and Eomer do end up together then I can understand their choice

I know Lothiriel has had three or four days to think about what she wants to happen after Eomer took a mistress, but she is remarkably calm and quiet forgiving in all of this. Of course they never truly did discuss if she wanted him to be loyal to her in that way. Maybe you are right and in some ways the way their marriage was started makes all of this a little bit easier to sort through
