I'm actually surprised to hear that this story is taking on a more explicit direction since it had started off so lighthearted and it seemed to continue that way, even with the blossoming attraction. How you ended it in the last chapter though... I shouldn't be surprised with where you want to take it now.

Right from the start, I absolutely enjoyed their banter. Their comebacks were amusing and refreshing and I acually caught myself laughing out loud at times, something quite rare when I read stories. Mikasa's anger and the things she found calming was so on point for her character, so morbid, and yet so darkly humorous. I loved it.

The only critique I can offer though is the chapter where Levi comes inside her apartment. That was the only time I felt that they started deviating from their characters. After all, just the previous chapter, she had a whole well of anger to blast on this guy, something that had been simmering for [weeks]. And okay, I get it, she finally found her catharsis after that dance and he finally gave her praise. But even then, it seems like they were just finally finding a tentatively even ground with the other person.

The way they acted in the chapter after - teasing each other and having fun - and Mikasa cursing when she got angry - not that it's not within her capabilities to curse when she is upset but she does not seem to be the type to curse at trivial matters, regardless if it's all in the name of fun-hood. So I cannot imagine her being mad at not getting something right, well actually, yes, she would be mad but she would translate that anger into determination. The way she had talked there seemed more of Eren's style. I know I may seem really nitpicky about that chapter right now but I recognize the quality in this work and it would be a disservice to you, the creator of this baby, to not get some honest constructive criticism.

That being said, the dance. Oh my. God. Usually no matter what fandom or story I am reading, my mind automatically glazes over the performance and costume part because either it's too unoriginal or just way too descriptive that the reader gets entangled in the details... But when I read yours? The costumes ... so simple and yet not. Both for Mikasa and Levi. It was perfect. And how you ended it, with that dramatic throw (but not so dramatic that it falls into melodramatic) and that 'bloody' smear... Yesyesyes! Each movement on that stage, I could see right before me. Bravo authoress, bravo.

This is one of the best Mikasa x Levi fics out there - you have a flow with your words, and you write them so well. When you write them, there is a quiet chemistry to the way you tell their story and their relationship, and you make them so down-to-earth and at the same time, in-character and in line with their personalities. I was shocked that Mikasa was a smoker here, but I liked how you portrayed her struggles.
