Just came and read because your update bumped this up. A great idea, one I haven't seen before and has proven to be enjoyable even only a few chapters in.

I would suggest option B, as many others have. I personally think that this is a great idea, and encourage you to not abandon it.

As im not a writer i cant really give any good advice other than.
Maybe take a break and then think on it if it helps.
You can always take the idea or something similar and do a rewrite if you want to continue but cant figure out how.
Also if you haven’t considered it theres sites like spacebattles that you can get surprisingly good advice on your writing on if constructive feedback helps.

Well the only suggestion I can give you to help the story move forward. This is heavy OC stuff. My suggestion as a way to help the story. Is to pull the games into the story, well Harbinger will eventually develop an android body for personal face to face talks with humanity.

So I suggest you start with Reach. The Fall of Reach is related to Covenant tech being captured by UNSC and taken to Reach for study, but this tech was not fully disable and thus the Covenant used it like a beacon to find Reach. My suggestion is you have Harbinger make earlier contact by accident, where they saved a UNSC fleet from destruction, the fleet that brought that Covenant tech to Reach. Harbinger allows them to take it for study, maybe he is not aware yet that Covenant can track their technology, maybe a new development to find the source of the Reaper Forces. Harbinger decides to make first contact, his android body is sent to begin talks, while he continues to prepare for the Covenant attack on Earth. He find himself on remote level caught in the invasion of Fall of Reach. Sure he can send forces to save the planet, but not quickly enough for Master Chief's ship to take off and his remote body is taken along, to ensure he survives, not realizing yet his body is a mere remote robot. This would bring elements of the first Halo game, then you continue to move to the second and third game, where Harbinger fighting besides John on remote level, as his physical body is fighting the Covenant fleet. Its the best suggestion I can make, after all Harbinger will notice how similar John is compared to Commander Shepard, and desires to see how John will act, will it be similar or different to Commander Shepard.

I suggest C. Trying to drag something by force when one is not intersted never ends well...

I would say push through, but in truth, I feel B or C would be best. If you can get someone to help with this, that might help out a bit, but that's just my own opinion.

Hmmmm, take a break if you haven't already, watch YT or other things. Jot down any ideas you might get during that time, and when you feel ready, Execute Option B.

Go with option two but leave this up as The original version or some such. But do not be afraid to change major aspects.
