Really good story. You did a great job following through on the close relationship between Loki and Frigga that was subtly touched on in the film. I liked the view of Loki from the perspective of the OC as well. Good job!

How had I missed this? "Call it what you will. But I cannot serve a king who treats a prince of his house in that fashion. Not now or ever." I like how he still refers to Loki as a prince. When I think at this point in time not many are very thrilled with him.

Very sad... and powerful. I love how you took someone as simple as the guard who approached Loki, and turned him into a person with thoughts and feelings and backstory. Wow. :)

Arghh, I love it! My poor feels are in pieces... So simple, yet so beautifully written- beautiful enough to stirr feelings, inspire minds, and fill our hearts with sorrow and sympathy for the fallen prince, Loki.

I thought this was brilliant- the outsider, Erinvane,'s point of view, expressed in such a way to convey his varying emotions in so little words...

Urgh, I could write about this for days, but I really MUST tie this up as I've got an annoyingly large list of last-minute Christmas preparations to complete!

*-* I like that Loki knew his name. I kinda feel bad for Odin, mind, being blamed for not taking Loki up to the funeral, since Loki did kinda give the advice to Kurse(sp?) that led to Frigga dying and Heimdall probably saw him do it and reported in the aftermath, but of course, Erinvane didn't know that and just- the way you wrote him was absolutely beautiful and I loved him. Thanks for writing!

Gosh darn it, just when I think your writing can't get can't get better, you go and improve. I loved the character of the guard and telling this story from his viewpoint. Of course the prison guards would be not the elite of the Einherjar- they're "security guards", not trained fighters- and you can tell that by how quickly they get overwhelmed during the prison break in Thor:TDW.

How telling to hear his thoughts on Odin, life in Asgard, and Loki. I'm frankly tired of all the wimpy, pitiful Loki's that get written in the fandom. Seems he's a victim, kicked around by the Warrior's Three and the rest of Asgard, never measuring up or being much of a fighter, falling back on magic, or he's smirking around, lying and plotting some nefarious revenge. Really? I don't buy it. He wouldn't last fifty years, let alone a thousand, if he couldn't pull his weight with Thor &Co. It sells the character short and makes him less interesting.

Thankfully, that's something you never do. You're not afraid to explore Loki's very real angst and pain, but you never forget who-he-is. Sure, his life hasn't been perfect, but it's had all the important things you show us here- family, respect, position, and love.

So, I enjoyed your portrayal of Loki as a learned and respected prince and fierce warrior (clearly demonstrated in TDW), whose exploits are well-known and celebrated among his people. A man of many masks and layers of armor, with a violently passionate heart who loves and grieves deeply. And who touches the heart of the man sent to guard him and changes his life as well.

Your style has always been lovely and skilled, and only seems to improve. Keep up the good work!

So painful and yet very excellent. I appreciated the ambivalence and ultimate risk taking by Erinvane; first to take initiative against Odin's vindictiveness do the right thing by privately telling Loki, then to do the greater right thing by publicly refusing to remain in Odin's service. If there is ever a House of Loki, I hope he winds up there.

Well, well, well. Look who couldn't stay away from the Lokiverse. ;) Here I was thinking that you would never EVER write another Loki fanfic, desperately searching for another writer that could compare to your brilliance (and frankly your cleanliness if you know what I mean. Seriously, some fanfics are really messed up) and suddenly I think to myself, "Maybe...just maybe, she's written SOMETHING. Maybe there is hope?" And what do you know...here they are! Not one but TWO Loki fanfics. Granted this one was short, but beautiful and sorrowful none the less. I'll read the other one soon, but sadly I don't have time right now :( so let's just review this one for now, eh? :D

First off, doing it from the guard's perspective—not a main character or one usually thought of much—is very original and fresh. Something I really enjoyed. And it really gave me a glimpse of what an outsider would have thought of the whole situation. I mean, I never thought about how anyone else besides the actual people who were involved (Thor, Loki, Jane etc) were seeing this whole thing play out. Very inspiring, so thx for that. Erinvane himself is an intriguing and obviously honorable character. I'm interested of what will become of him... (Psst...that means WRITE MORE ;) ) His thought process about the way he saw Loki when he was with Frigga was wonderfully described with the whole "calming of the storm thing". And when he realized Loki had NO IDEA Frigga was dead—! GASP. The horror! Loved it. Loved him. Love you. Awesome, amazing, incredible as always. Loki is the best.
