HunterKiller762 chapter 10 . 6/24 Nice Killzone reference |
RussianAbdicator chapter 13 . 8/3/2019 The end of the story was so powerful and made me cry, thank you so much for writing it |
Guest chapter 13 . 5/20/2019 What exactly IS a one-shot? |
Jay Hayden chapter 13 . 4/23/2019 After rereading this fic and your explanation for the theory on tumblr (its really good) something else about the Morgans hit me: not even counting the time travelers, at least 2, possibly 4 if we treat the spot pass characters as canon, of Fem!Morgan's mothers couldn't have been her mother in the original timeline Yen'Fay is stated to be from their world where he didn't accept the deal and Say'ri died, thus and Tiki was never even involved in the war. This could also help explain why the war in Valm happened so much later, with Yen'Fay actively resisting it took Walhart longer to dominate. |
LadyLucina chapter 13 . 4/6/2019 Hey! Yep, it's me again, I think you should become used to me because I'm not going to leave soon. Yes, I know I was supposed to read this story before A Future Broken and A Future Tied by Fates, but I'm not the logical sort and fortunately, you could understand both without the first one. I know your story is inspired by the events of Future Past and even if I get the DLC, I haven't played it yet. But it was cool to discover the world where Morgan and Marc come from, even if it means painful scenes and a hard time for Morgan, Robin and Lucina (they're doomed). In fact, you've got a great job to make all the time travel thing and paradox understandable, even if I got a headache in the process. Like OK, Lucina came back in all the timelines, but she failed to kill Grima, avoiding Chrom to perform the Awakening, so young Lucina has to confront Grima later. And I thought mathematics are hell. Speaking of this, I'm quite disappointed you didn't give a greater role to alternate selves of Inigo and Cie. Yes, they helped to gather the gemstones, but they don't interact a lot with the other characters and we don't see them a lot. I know they're not the main characters, but imagine if you encountered another you... Would you not like to have discussions and all with him? And for God's sake, I would have a lot of questions if another me would come to my world, even if I knew it happened before. You had some good ideas, like making Tiki the new Naga. It would fit her very well, but I wonder one thing: in other worlds, would Lucina find other ways to deal with Grima? Would Naga send other travelers to save worlds? Because, yes, she wanted to avoid awful fates for some humans. But a thousand timelines exist, and it's totally possible that in each of them, Grima won. But in some of them, perhaps there are not any future travelers... We can imagine a thousand of scenarios and Naga could not save all of these worlds. So why had she chosen this one (except because it's where Morgan and Marc come from)? You can hate me for asking these questions. XD Like Robin says, when you're speaking about time travel, making sense is difficult. X) But anyway, I appreciated all the enlightements on Morgan's and Marc's past; how their mother died, how Morgan ended up in our Robin and Lucina's world. I think it was one of the most beautiful and painful scenes of your story: Robin fighting with all his strength against Grima to save his daughter, one of the best gestures of love. Even if it meant destroying himself or messing up with time, his daughter's happiness was the most important thing. By the way, I think it's the main strength of this story: the links between Robin and his family. I'm shaken by the final scenes, when he's freed from Grima and cried on all the horrors Grima made him do, the worst of them being killing the love of his life. And his only concerns were his children's happiness and the fact that Lucina would not forgive him... And when our Lucina forgive this alternate Robin, letting him leaving the world in peace, a pure scene of love and a simple way to show how much they love each other. You put it in simple but true words and I thank you for that, especially when he finds his wife and his best friend again in the afterlife. You did a fine work on this Robin, showing his innate strength because not becoming mad after all this is a miracle. He fought back probably for his children, but it's moving anyway. I think I'll need time to recover after this, I'm quite the emotional sort. X) I'm not so convinced about Morgan: you didn't mess up, but it lacks development. I'm still hungry because your Morgan is interesting and I want more. I know it's hard to work on everything and I'm the evil reader in that case. Buuut I wouldn't have said so if I didn't think it worthed the observation. For me, characters are central in a fiction, I can't read a fiction with poor made characters. So that's why I'm so severe when it comes to them. You also worked quite well on the bonds between the characters, not only on the Robcina, but also with Chrom. I like the friendship between Robin and Chrom, especially when they're teasing each other. I laughed when Chrom asked if they're dead and his friend answered that yes, they're all ghosts coming back to haunt him. XD As always, you wrote good action scenes, making Robin the great tactician we love, with a wonderful mind and a bit of humor. Yeah, I repeat it, but I love Robin's childish side. It's part of his charm and Lucina being the rational and adult one is really funny. Or when Chrom asked him to shut up, in the way only a best friend can do (I can picture it in my head XD). You're right to write all these funny and lovely little scenes, it helps with the characterization and offers a welcome pause in a dark and eventful fiction. Thank you for your story and sorry if I'm an ungrateful reader. I liked your story, I enjoy to be a pain. P Hope to read you soon, Siuan. |
Guest chapter 13 . 2/8/2019 Sequal? |
Cavik chapter 7 . 10/7/2018 The theory I thought you were going with was the one that said the main-game Morgan is the same as the one you meet in the Future Past maps. Which was one that never convinced me, since it didn't explain how Morgan could be a third generation character. Considering you went with the Robin-Lucina (Robcina?) ship, I had decided to stick around and see if you had taken it into acount and thought of a way to justify that. Now I'm glad I did. With this twist that the Future Past is a timeline in which the children went back in time but Grima still won, I'm actually convinced now. |
GoldenCardinal chapter 13 . 8/14/2018 Really good story, by far the best I’ve seen for the future past dlc! Loved reading it. |
348joey chapter 12 . 3/30/2018 "I already called dibs on publishing rights to my genius. You have to pay me royalties if you want to quote me." I don't think "dibs" counts as a legally binding agreement, no matter what Morgan's lawyer says. |
348joey chapter 10 . 3/30/2018 "Yawn, bored now," I think this chapter has some of my favorite lines so far. At this rate the next thing you'll be telling me is that 'since I'm not going to survive this you might as well tell me your entire plan' or something. That is, if your plans weren't just shouting 'grrr, I'm Grima. I'm scary. I break things. Fear me'." Sounds about right. I'd also like to give Robin a medal for his snarky attitude towards the big bad. At [any rate], it was amazing how already killing someone made them a whole lot less scary. Funny how that is. "Be dead? Yeah, I was. Got bored, decided to come back," (sic) Okay, okay, this chapter has most of my favorite lines from the entire story. Are you happy? Geez… "Well, I got him warmed up for you. He's all yours." Literally… What? He didn't make that joke? Wasted opportunity. |
348joey chapter 8 . 3/30/2018 "[Quit] bringing up things to make it worse," But making things more confusing is part of his charm! D: "there is a bright side though. The me in this world happened to marry a version of your daughter too, so now's your chance to let off some of the aggression on that. I don't think you'll get another chance." Don't tempt him, Robin. "If I have to find you in that damn field one more time, I'm leaving you there." While it is a pretty good place for a nap, it's probably best they not leave him there. |
Guest chapter 7 . 3/30/2018 "Robin, you were willing to let me kill you when you found out the other you killed my father in my own timeline!" So, while Robin was emotionally unstable, filled with guilt about what his counterpart did in Lucina's world, and potentially suicidal after learning that he may bring doom to the world and destroy all that he holds dear, the woman he loves comes up to him and says she wants to kill him. How did you expect him to respond?! "Look, normally I'm not one to get angry. I like to consider myself among the more level headed members of the walking social disaster that is the Shepherds." Yeah, but it's OUR walking social disaster. Gah, now look what you've done, Robin! You got your cousin worked up about his sword hand again! Now he'll never shut up! 'Ah, see, that's the Morgan that I know and love who occasionally tolerates me,' Ah, "I occasionally tolerate you", the highest form of affection. "Why must the two of you act like such children?" "I figured it was part of our charm," "Besides, I still am a kid. And he started it!" I love those two. |
Guest chapter 5 . 3/30/2018 "Oww! Why are you hitting me. It was alter-Owain who cut the bridge!" (sic) "Because he's too far away for me to hit," It's like lightning trying to find the fastest way to the ground. You're just conductive to violence, Owain. "Severa, please hit your boyfriend [again for me]." Everyone has their useful talents. Severa's is hurting those that need to shut up. "Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, Morgan began to chant in her head, grinning from ear to ear." Standing next to Morgan, Robin is also shaking his fists in front of himself while chanting, "Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!" "Dad? Why are you encouraging this fight?" "With any luck, they'll destroy each other and I won't have to." I would've just had the flyers swoop in to where native Inigo and Owain were and fly them to safety. They could even fly through the ridges for cover if needed. |
Guest chapter 3 . 3/30/2018 "It may seem like it, but behind this airheaded exterior is the brain of a master tactician! … It just sleeps in sometimes," (sic) Brain keeps hitting the snooze button. "She must have done a really good job too, since she only had to repeat it three or four times before they seemed to understand what she meant." Improvement! |
