excessivelyperky chapter 2 . 9/1/2018
I'm so sorry that Remus feels sad, but perhaps if he had not enabled his friends to think it was ok to try to kill Severus in the first place? Does Remus actually like Snape, or wants desperately for forgiveness so he doesn't have to feel guilty any more?

But of course Albus doesn't mind asking a child to sacrifice himself for him; after all, he plans to sacrifice Harry, too.

Severus is right to want to disappear. I just hope he doesn't consider suicide if he ages back old enough, and the Dark Mark reappears again.

I enjoyed it. It was a bit jarring at times to have so much time in the story skipped, but it got to the point of the matter and focused on the bits of the story that would have changed due to the changes in Snape. It is the first fanfic I recall in which the body shrunk, but the mind stayed the same. It’s a good twist.

This ending sucks!
N J Dryad chapter 2 . 6/14/2018
I like this open-ended story. This is how I've decided to continue it:

Severus goes on the run with HRH, and they destroy the horcruces. Sev tells Harry of Dumbledore's plans for him. Just so there's no question he's telling the truth, he brews Veritaserum for them to use when questioning him. He disguises himself and participates in the last battle, in which Voldy is defeated.

Hermione goes to Australia, and Severus goes with her to escape the people hunting him. Together, they remove the memory charms on her parents. The Grangers are grateful to Severus for helping to keep their daughter alive, so they take him in, telling people he's a cousin or nephew whose parents have died. This allows him to grow up in a decent home and start a new life with a new name away from Britain. Hermione goes back to Britain.

Several years later, Hermione comes to visit, and she and Severus start dating. They get married and stay in Australia, since Severus is still a wanted man in Britain. He finally gets the happy life he deserves.

The End

This would be an interesting way to get Snape to actually work with the Trio. I imagine that they won't be out in the woods without any food with his help. ;-) I also imagine that Harry and Hermione would figure out a way to give him a life after it's all over. Severus wouldn't be at Hogwarts for Voldie to set a snake on him in the same way, so I think he might survive.
Laurie chapter 2 . 4/30/2018
I liked this story enough that I HATED the open ending. You'd just gotten things moving, removed one ally and given Severus another (and the whole world for enemies) and stopped cold. The plot was just opening up, with enough hints of childhood reactions affecting his behavior to raise questions. Remus knows why he was jumpy, how would Harry or Ron react to their heroes, the Marauders, inflicting that much fear on someone (especially since James was Harry's father). I wanted that moment, when Harry realized that child Snape was scared of his resemblance to James, because maybe they could work from that to develop a better understanding. The choose your own ending bit just feels like a copout. Sorry.

That was a really clever story. You’re a very good writer.
public static void chapter 2 . 1/11/2018
Well, first thing: I admire how well you write Snape. Really. He's a despicable character in my opinion and I usually try to stay away from any fics with him in it. Yet when you write him I don't find him as bad. I love how you take his personality and give him feelings according to it and that expand beyond his lost love. It's really refreshing.

About this fic in particular: brilliant! I had never liked a de-aging fic as I like this one (though Saudade is amazing as well) and I think it's because of the open ending. I think being a child/teenager works well for Snape here because people (like Harry) are more likely to give him a chance to explain his actions.

My favourite part was, without doubt, Snape and Harry saving Draco. I loved that the countercurse needs the caster to want to heal because those details are full of magic :)

Remus and Snape at Christmas were great, not because of the funny way in which Remus asked about Snape's height but also because Molly counted both of them (both very lonely children/adults) as part of the family. I also liked to see how Snape semi-recognised the fear of Remus he has.

In all, it was a very entertaining tale and one I will remember as the one that made me empathize with Snape.

Oh, I really like this. I will add it to the Snape De-Aged Community right now!

Has Snape actually realized that he doesn't have the Mark now? (true, he's still stuck with that dratted Vow. But is he at the Weasleys to keep him from dying while Something Is Done about Draco?).
Cookies and Ink chapter 1 . 9/11/2017
I love Severus as a character and was really interested to see how you wrote him, especially given that he was going to be de-aged.

There were perhaps a few instances where he came across as out of character - he chortles once which threw me a little - and the way those in Hogwarts automatically started to baby him surprised me. That being said, he was suddenly twelve and I can imagine how shocking it must have been.

I admit that when I clicked on the fic, I thought that it was going to be more of a comedy. As soon as I realised that Severus was going to keep his adult mind but essentially be in a powerless situation, that made it quite engaging for me. I haven't read Part 2 yet and so I'm intrigued to find out whether it truly is a permanent situation. If so, will he have a second chance at life and change things around? How even, will this affect his daily life/job/death eater duties.

This really sparked my imagination, thank you very much.

I did really like the interaction with Lupin. Thanks for sharing!

Argh! The way he fears Harry... that just gave me the chills. Great work.
Maisie Malfoy chapter 1 . 5/21/2017
This is an interesting start. I've read a few fics with de-aged characters before but this stands out.
Just one little thing: In most literature, "sir" is not capitalized, and it is usually written "Christmas holidays."
But overall I like where this is going. Now to read the second chapter.
