Csa ocs are bizare sometimes... They may have split up but the constitution prevented them from becoming a new nation(?) (I think.. Isn't the rest of the states supposed to unanimously agree that they can leave?) either way I bawled at this awesomeness of family love!

Firstly, let me say that I love FACE!Hurt/comfort fics and I was super excited when you mentioned you'd written one. And Alfred is such a sweetheart, and I adore his relationship with England. But this is just...wow. I don't have words.

I love how powerful this is. I can totally see Alfred reacting like this, and yeah, I agree with your headcanon completely. He wouldn't want his people killing himself, and he'd be very upset and he'd be in a lot of physical pain. I LOVE how detailed this fic is, it just pulls everything together. And that scene in the cemetery? That just killed me. I felt so, so, so bad for Alfred. And England, too. I love the idea of France keeping him from interfering in the Civil War, and how it's a test for his nationhood and all that.

And the ending? With that song...I'm going to go listen to it now. But damn, that was so beautiful. And I like how the fic sort of mentions what we've talked about. You told me about "Bleeding Kansas", and I loved how you brought that in here.

You are SO good at writing FACE fics. Seriously, man. I don't think anyone can write FACE better than you can. This is really, really good. I mean, I don't even know what to SAY.
