Wow thats just kecking cruel. Well I give it to you this fic of yours is indeed very entertaining. It managed to retain the grimdark atmosphere of 40k while as you said keeping that little bit of hope. Lorewise; I supposed the story fit nicely in the universe by deviating from some established lore but not necessarily contradicting it.

I for one glad the way you handle guardsman that faced chaos (which I think is the largest deviation form the lore the other being that bit about Krieg recruitment but since you addresed it in your story that deviation was "fixed" I supposed) by not taking the grimdark sop from lore but replacing it with something plausible.

You could've gone with an absurd bitter end; a path that I'm glad you didin't take. I don't know if you're still reading reviews or writing for that matter. But I do look forward for your future works.

Krieg do not recruit from other planets, I can't get into this at all lmao. The simple lack of lore makes it hard to read any of it at all. Krieg is a planet from which guardsmen come from, kriegsmen come from KRIEG, no other planet. It's ok if you make your own pseudo krieg group of guardsmen, but specifically referencing them as death korps of KRIEG and saying they're from other planets just hurts my head.

Great job! I enjoyed each chapter! The ending was good, but hopefully, this is not the end of your characters.

Line 26, I assume you mean, "she spit out with more than a hint of irritation in her voice." Instead of spit you have bit.

This was absolutely great. Loved it from start to finish. That ending was a kick in the balls though. I do hope you do a sequel at some point or cameo the characters in another story. Though I suppose that is a faint hope looking at your update date on your other stories. Anyhow this is now up there with my favorite fanfictions on the site. Well done.
