Confusing? Yes, but only as much as anything else that happens in Wonderland. Torment is the punishment of all who seek to bring reason within its twisted walls.

I feel sorry for this Joker character, really, I do. They way you spin it, it's not so much that he's not good at his role, it's more that it's just a terrible role to be stuck with no matter who you are.

...But it's more than being faceless. Almost like his fate was too far gone to begin with. He didn't have a choice then, and he doesn't have a choice now. He becomes an individual by bowing into the role that he doesn't want.

There's a certain resignation in the last lines that turn this new chance into a dreaded assurance that another "chance" will only be prolonging the cycle. "Choosing" was never an option and even those who are masters of seasons are shackled to their duties rather than their own will. Joker realizes that he always will be nothing more than a pawn in the game, but also that it isn't his fault. And that's the worst part. It's nobody's fault, that's just how the game works.

Thus, the despair of the stacked deck is conveyed and the melancholy of one who never truly wished for this is captured. You do well, if depressingly so. Thank you for the tale.

I will admit that I was confused but if that's the way it's meant to be, then that's good :) Joker seems like an interesting character...a bit topsy turvy, but that's what you get in a place like Wonderland x3

Splitting ones personality into two to handle one job...seems tiring. I suppose he wouldn't be very stable like that :O
