I read the two last chapters together. The penultimate was was tough: James paid a very high price indeed for his Harry-like impulsiveness. Fitting in a way, but harsh. The denouement of the Rose and Scorpius story was beautifully handled. Sob!

Interesting to see the spousal bickering between Ron and Hermione: 'you had to say it'. As ever, Ron likes to skate on the surface of things. Glad to see some raprocchement between Scorpius and his Dad. It is hard to feel for Tobias, he was a rotten little sneak. Ah! Nina is gay! The surprises keep coming. 'Not a word' said Scorpius. Dead right too, far too much talk. A lovely consummation

Action packed! The most exciting chapter of all as all sorts of individuals like Tobias Greengrass, Jem, Carlotte, Scorpius speed on intersecting collison courses. Unexpected treachery from Jonah the headboy (was that a cheat or had you given us a clue?) and baqpparently witless optimism 'Lets not jump to copnclusions just yet' (Nina Meyer) proves to be justified. Famous last words 'It can't happen' (Rose Weasley) It was a great moment when James gave Scorpius the cloak and I am so glad that Rose saved Scorpius though I am unsure of the medical procedure involved. And muggle rights, I ask you!"

Can Penny Alderton be trusted? Will the course of true love ever run smooth for Scorpius? Very spiky and razor sharp repartee eg. between Nina Meyer and Santini who is shaping up as a total jock. I am a litle disturbed about girls spending so much time in the boys doritories...

I read this one again because it had been a while and I needed to get back into the swing. I would have loved to see Percy 'my career is at stake here' been given more of the excuses so characteristic of Ministers dodging responsibility 'my officials never told me' or 'I told the council' or best off all, blame 'systemic error' not any person. Scorpius is as ascerbic as his name: that put down to Santini is spot on: I am surprised you now such a big word' A sad moment when Albus told his father 'I trust you' and was ignored...The overlooked younger child

Again I really enjoyed the dialogue, Rose's occassional snarkiness and Hermione's alarmingly frank admiration for the 'lovely' Tony Mason. Hmmm
Harry says to James 'There is no need for you to get involved, yet you always do! Why?' A question that needs to be answered convincingly. I thought Harry's uncharacteristic crisis of confidence was engaging. Lots of wry humour as when Scorpius fails to folow his aunt's train of thought. Percy is ever the careerist, some things don't change. Were Orchid and Penny let escape just to keep the story going?
