Beautifully written story. That's so great the way the one shots lead on from one another in terms of describing the extent of Castle's emotional involvement/investment in Beckett's life, all the way up until the story's ending.

Wow, Molly. I'm so happy you dusted this off and posted it, but oh my God that was hard to read. Brilliant. It pulled no punches and told no lies and just laid it out as could have, should have, might have been.

I really can't give these character death stories a legitmate read, but I read enough of this one to know what happened in each section. The last one, where Castle sacrificed himself for her. That one I understand and it doesn't bother me so much because he did it out of love.

It's all really good writing, I know, but I just can't find enjoyment in reading it.

But I loved it. With every ending of not ending Nikki heat, and then switching to him dying in the last part.
Loved the comparison of red blood on her white gloves, and I loved how you said he said he loved her and didn't really realize when he realized he loved her. Appropriate and heartbreaking in that position. I will just imagine this being a dream. I can't do it the other way. Nope!
