I love the story

Hi! I've just started reading and so far IT IS AMAZING! I love how you portray Johanna and her interactions with others, her pains and the way she thinks!

I am gonna miss this fic. Every enjoyable read.

*sigh* Nova is getting on my nerves here.

Love this story, all the times they tried to push each other away and couldn't. And the happy ending, of course.

ive loved your story so much its great. but i gotta admit jo bein mad at kat for getting rid of the trigger is plain out STUPID. were you really that desperate for a last bit of drama?

You're an incredible writer. I found myself enjoying this as much, if not more than the books! You are great at giving the characters the appropriate amount of background and do not dwell with useless filler chapters. This is excellent. Marvelous job, you should be very proud. Thank you for sharing this gift with us all.

Rather intriguing, I’ll give you that.
Johanna’s one character I’ve become increasingly interested in as I’ve read more about the franchise, so your interpretation of her past before the Quarter Quell and her new interaction with Katniss was very engaging, presenting her as controlled but hostile rather than just making her angry with everything, to say nothing of such ideas as her complex relationship with Nova.
While I question why everyone in District Thirteen thought it had to be ‘either/or’ regarding whether Johanna or Peeta had been planted with a trigger to attack Katniss- why couldn’t the Capitol have done that for both of them and Thirteen taken a few more precautions with Peeta rather than just accepting his word because of the publicity?- the central idea was intriguing. On top of that, you created a truly fascinating exploration of Johanna’s psychology regarding how she relates to others- both briefly exploring her attitude before the Games and analysing what she became in the aftermath- and particularly concerning her relationship with Katniss, as her personal ‘argument’ that she’s protecting Katniss to stop Snow gradually comes apart as Katniss gets under Johanna’s skin without any real effort required on her part.
I wasn’t sure about the idea of Katniss being ‘manipulative’ enough to use her ‘death’, but I suppose it’s plausible that the Capitol made the same assumption as in canon and Katniss just accepted the idea to use that twist to try and ‘help’ Johanna, and Johanna’s reaction where Prim was concerned at least made for a plausible new turn of events.
Of course, after the war’s over, their coming together is handled very neatly; still some complications to overcome at first, and their relationship is never going to be conventional when they need time even to decide where to live, but they’ve made progress nevertheless.
In the end, my only serious problem with this story is that I didn’t agree with Peeta’s actions in his last ‘confrontation’ with Johanna before the mission to the Capitol. I can understand him being jealous, but considering that he and Gale seemed to respect Katniss’s right to make the call about who she wanted in canon, the concept of him deliberately provoking Johanna like this felt unnecessarily cruel for him.
I also would have liked Peeta to actually show up after the war rather than Katniss just dismiss him to the past like that- whatever changed, he meant a lot to her once- but when you’re focusing on Johanna’s POV it’s plausible that such a meeting happened and she just never saw it.

As I think I've said a couple times, you write the best Joniss in existence. _ This is a superb slow-burn, and I wouldn't have it any other way than this one if I had to have it slow.

I really thought Peeta was it. He's a bastard for triggering it, but he still lost out.
Anyways, enjoyed the fic! I'm glad they talked about Nova but I'm surprised that she didn't talk to Katniss about her lying about Snow.
You kept everyone alive, so cool. In a roundabout way, you made them more than just pieces in a chess game. And Beetee was in on the whole killing Presidents thing, I'm sure.

So far I'm enjoying it!
