| Birkastan2018 chapter 15 . 6/14 Dear author, I love this piece so much. I'm amazed by everything that was conveyed about Madara and Sakura's relationship, despite the fact that he's dead. As a reader, I understand how much Sakura meant to her late husband, and how much she loved her former teacher. I know this is kind of sort of an ItaSaku and MadaSaku (but not) one-shot, but the thing that strikes me the most here is Sakura's dynamic with her other in-laws (like Mikoto, Noriko, etc.). Mikoto's confession to her son was awesome; how humilitated she felt at having a girl the same age as Sasuke become her oldest sister-in-law. I love stories that touch on family dynamics like this; this was so poignant and beautiful at the same time. As always, thank you for writing and sharing this with us! |

| Birkastan2018 chapter 9 . 11/28/2019 Dear author, whenever I read Pining I always try to put myself in Itachi's headspace, and I can't even begin to imagine how someone like Sakura probably turned his world upside down. I love that she was able to see more in him - something more than the "fixer"; she saw beyond the flesh wounds and the motorcycle and his grisly occupation. I wonder when's the last time someone saw Itachi in that light, and it makes sense how he was so desperate to shed himself of all the blood and darkness to be with her. (Also, I couldn't find Ardor on ff or anywhere else i could leave a review, so I guess i'll leave my comment here... i hope that's okay). I loved loved loved this sequel! At the end of Pining, I wondered what would become of Itachi's meeting with Kisame,and if he'd really be able to clear a path to be with Sakura again. So you can only imagine how thrilled I was to read Ardor! Reading how he promptly got rid of his gun after she found it while she was doing his laundry, and how he got rid of his motorcycle, and how they worked together to find him another job was so heartwarming. And that ending was too sweeeeet! “Why don’t you just go and wife her, already, Uchiha?” I try and think what that must have meant for Itachi - to have someone in his life who loved him for who he was despite his past, and to get a text that there was a loving partner and sukiyaki waiting for him at home instead of a dead body to clean up. I love this two part series so much! thank you for writing and sharing it with us! |
