dmarie1184 chapter 1 . 6/7/2017 You have such a beautiful way with words. I definitely see why your inspiration is Idylls of the King, the writing style has such a beautiful lyrical quality to it. And you know, thinking that perhaps he slept away the years in a tree somehow eases the pain a little. Knowing he doesn't wander centuries alone... |
wryter501 chapter 1 . 1/4/2016 just a test... |
SugarSugarSweetSweet chapter 2 . 1/3/2015 Beautiful. |
sneetchstar chapter 2 . 12/15/2014 This is really good. I liked the rhythm and cadence of the writing. I admit I was confused because I thought the non-italic bits were Arthur's POV and the second chapter was Arthur returning, not Merlin. IDK if that was intentional misdirection or just me being dim, but once I figured out it was Merlin, I was like, "OOOHHHH, okay." Well done. |
Elise.v chapter 2 . 8/3/2014 Woa! This is so awesome! :o the only thing I didn't get was, was Merlin traped in a big tree for 1500 years? Aw, poor him :') |
LaRieNGuBleR chapter 2 . 7/11/2014 A bit hard to understand it completely, but it's a beautiful story. :) |
eilonwy77 chapter 2 . 7/11/2014 This is lovely, and I am so glad they found each other. My insides got all emotional while reading it. |
shell22 chapter 2 . 7/10/2014 Wow did not see the update! Great chapter but also so sad! Thanks for writing it! |
fairy goatmother chapter 2 . 7/9/2014 Oh you are terrible! I love this! |
LFB72 chapter 2 . 7/9/2014 Thanks for the happy ending. At first I was not sure if this was going to be Arthur or Merlin's waking. It kept the same distortion from the previous chapter but there was the sense of Merlin searching for something rather than drifting and I'm so glad you let him find Arthur. Yes it does feel a little better to think of Merlin in stasis (albeit stuck in a tree) rather than roaming the world alone. I wish they'd ending the series with a reunion, with hope but alas they did not! |
Penelope-Jane-Avalon chapter 2 . 7/9/2014 Beautifully written. A really original way of dealing with the legend of Merlin's imprisonment and his seemingly endless wait for Arthur's return. Some really excellent descriptive writing. |
mersan123 chapter 2 . 7/8/2014 Hi Wryter. Thoroughly enjoyed your version of Merlins wait. I have to say I am in total agreement that this would be a far kinder way for Merlin to wait for Arthurs return. Lets face it, who would survive 1500 years with their sanity intact? I personally cannot see it happening even to the strongest "person". After all that Merlin lost and suffered during his time at Camelot, plus his loss of Arthur far too soon, it just seemed like an extremely cruel joke to play. Loved how you played fates card with the first car for Merlin to ever encounter containing Arthur and Gwen - just as well too. Thank you. Brilliant read. |
shell22 chapter 1 . 7/8/2014 Beautifully written. You could feel the heaviness of Merlin heart going through his life now. |
