I’ve never felt such pain from a fanfiction before! Idk if this is weird, but when I read I get really into the story and it sorta starts to feel like, I’m feeling the tone of the story? Like if it’s a sad fic, then I cry, and if it a happy fic, then I can’t stop smiling. Idk if that makes sense, but the pain I felt in this story... recked me. I was crying for hours. And it’s so well written!

Well, that must have been traumatizing for Hiccup and Toothless. One had to see his best friend not only not remember him, but seem bothered by his presence, while the other had to relive his entire life in a few short hours, and it wasn't all rose and dandy.
While they were justified in their suspicions, and they accepted that the bond is here, it still must have thrown some ice on the future relationship between this flock and the Two Halves.

So we finally get to understand a bit more on how flight work! Because as I said before, the mental image of two humans clinging to a winged human was more than a bit ridiculous.
Also, fighting over Hiccup was just hilarious. Like, Hiccup was ready to have to cajole a dragon to bring him along with their rider, but nope.
And the teens must have been scared to death of watching that happen in the arena. Because honestly, he had so many close calls that Death must have been wondering just what was going on for that name to flash so quickly in his book.

Compared to what Hiccup in Canon went through, THAT was harrowing, distressing and exhausting for all parties involved.

I love the once again alien way of thinking. For dragons, it isn't a bad thing to be chained to your leader, it is natural for there to be an enforced hierarchy, but for a human who despise violence and slavery, to hear of your love as a chain would be a heavy blow indeed, especially if you have (or had, though I'm mostly certain he isn't quite over them) esteem issues.

It was so very sad, yet amusing in a sardonic way, to see Squirt testing boundaries before. Now, it has just shown how tragic it is. Poor guy (human, apparently?) spent all his life with strict, clearly defined rules, with punishment. And now he doesn't know what to do with his freedom. With consequences for him and everyone around him, both in physical pains, and emotional ones.

P.S: This AU totally cracks me up when I think about the rider flying by being hugged very close to winged, tailed humans. Though the scene where BOTH Astrid and Hiccup were flying on Toothless let me very confused indeed.
