But River can't go back to see her parents, not after the paradox caused the huge rift into time. Remember? They said no time travel in anyway in that period. It's why they had to say goodbye and why River says she sends the manuscript, she doesn't give or bring it. And sadly, Rory and Amy cut River out of their lives anyway, refusing to acknowledge as their child anymore (like they did in Asylum). That always breaks my heart! I can't believe they did that to her, let alone did it twice.
