The whole "Expecting a freak-out thinking they'll hate me" thing, while being a huge cliche for Jaune's confession in fics, does not apply AT ALL to this story where he knows them as well as he does . . . At this point they don't give a fuck about fake transcripts, he can fight better than their entire team. He remembers them barely caring back when he really couldn't fight, and now that he can you try and write him as all freak-out?
I half thought that was just what you had him use an excuse, but unless your narrator in your story was blatantly lying, Jaune was legitimately shocked by their reactions, which blatantly doesn't fit your story.
Has there been an author change or something?

I'm confused as to why Jaune is being so passive. He doesn't have to let Goodwitch stalk him - so why does he? He doesn't have to go home and face his parents - so why does he? None of the motivations behind Jaune's decisions on these things are even hinted at, much less shown, so it reads as if Jaune is just being drug along behind by the plotline and he doesn't actually have any agency. All the evidence behind his character places him as someone who wouldn't just blindly follow orders and expectations like this. I don't understand.

I don't really like how Jaune is so much of a pushover. To an extent I understand him giving into his friends, but that thing with Glynda? Unless it was included for humor then it's extremely character-breaking for Jaune.

Why would Jaune lose that fight? He knows Blake, Pyrrha, and Ren FAR too well: there's no way in hell he'd think they wouldn't all three see through his throwing the fight and faking his skills.

While not trying his utmost in combat class seems fine, I don't quite think going for low As-Bs has a purpose - so what if he gets perfect grades? Weiss probably does, Pyrrha probably does, other students no doubt do. What's the harm? Especially after the showdown with Ozpin where he already knows that his cover is slightly compromised.

I don't know why he is trying to hide his skills. Sure, don't go all out, but this half-assed fake weakness thing is so unbelievable that I'm not sure why he's trying.

hey man there are many reasons people feel empty enough to want to leave this earth. you broke your bond and that person is hurting. you should try to express your emotion at the time... and explain that it was a bad day... it only ever takes a bad day... ive been there myself... your other friend talk to her calmly rationally like an adult... hopefully this is good enough advice.

I didn’t really read the story but somehow I still enjoyed it

Ah, I can't go any farther. This started off interesting but eventually just devolved into Jaune Arc's Gary Stu Adventures, and I hate that sort of thing. Decent enough writing style, though. I just wish you'd devote more of the wordcount to advancing the story and developing the characters, and less to talking about how awesome Jaune is at fighting.

So, I just blitzed through this story and I got to say that I really enjoyed it and will be following the revamp. Also I am very glad that you didn't kill yourself. I went through depression myself in college, not fun. Plus a very selfish part of me is eager to read more of your stories since you put so much heart into them. I don't review often and am trying to work on that so I'm just letting you know that you have another fan.

I know that this story is long over, and that life has continued, which is the true point of this review. I know the situation here is in your past, and I want you to know that I was truly happy to see that you have continued writing Fanfiction and are still active. That you're still here.

I know what you were feeling, that the world is a dark and fucked up place. But I want you to know that this story, and others like it, have helped many of us make the world just a little lighter. That for a time, we can lose ourselves in an imaginary world and escape the mess of reality. And for that I want to thank you.
