Beautiful story!

Aww! This is a sweet story so far!

Really sweet story. I really enjoyed it, Your use of language is quite pretty overall. The fairytale atmosphere is also feels quite evocative and real. I almost got the impression that Duck chose to remain a duck even though she could be a girl, but I guess I misread. The use of bracketing in some places is quite fitting, in others it feels a bit overused. The ending is really nice, with the themes of birth and rebirth, and I don't think I've ever seen Duck's forms oriented to location before, so that was definitely original.
