Silverfyshxin chapter 19 . 2/16/2004 Good story |
MacRoMackerel chapter 19 . 1/6/2004 I really enjoyed your story up until the corny twist chapter. Your portrayal of high school life is nicely done- it brings back memories- and I like how you've managed to give your supporting cast the attention they deserve. I felt that introducing Nick as Superboy was too radical a shift, effectively changing what your story was about, not to mention giving it the dubious honour of becoming a crossover fic. Before, it felt like Jessie was trying to make sense of an extraordinary experience against the ongoing realities of daily life. Now, with the presence of two superheroes, from different universes I might add, it feels as if it's only a matter of time before the Fantastic Four bursts through the wall of Jessie's homeroom class. I realize, however, that it's a bit late to be changing that detail now, so I won't dwell on what's already done. You might already know the things I'm about to say so ignore me if that's the case. You should know that Superman outclasses Spiderman in overall ability by a fairly large margin, so Superboy's powers will have to be nerfed if Spidergirl is to keep up. It would interesting if you could come up with a twist on Superboy's superpowers since in their standard form they are, in my opinion, quite boring. Superman/boy only has one weakness and exploiting it is purely a do or don't decision on the part of the villian. Picture: Supervillain Bob is standing in the sport and hunting section of a hardware store. Hmm, he thinks. Do I get the kryptonite coated, armour-piercing, depleted uranium shells for $5.99? Or do I get the normal lead dum-dums on special for $1.49? Well golly gee, I only got two dollars cash on me and you know I just hate paying by debit... I'd also appreciate it if you could choreograph your future fight scenes based upon the comic book Spiderman rather than the movie. I know it's just a matter personal taste so this isn't criticism, only a request, okay? I just found the Spiderman in the comic book to be a heck of a lot more clever in battle and in wit than he was in the movie. I don't think Spidergirl should have to settle for second. BTW, thanks for doing an unusual take on the series. Hope you don't leave us dangling for too long! |

Arwench chapter 18 . 10/10/2003 Yup. VERY cliched. I agree. Y'know, I thought Nick was going to be the Green Goblin or something. I honestly never would have guessed... Superman... Wow. Well, if the parental units ban you from using the computer 'til the end of the school year, I'd appreciate if you maybe sent me a line notifying me of any updates. I look forward to your next installments. |
Arwench chapter 9 . 10/9/2003 Yes to Tolkien. Wow. I really didn't think a Spiderman fic would be any good until I read yours. It makes it... a bit more human, I suppose. A few of your sentences are a bit repetitive. Some of your spelling needs work. Sometimes your finger shifts from the S key to the D key, I've noticed. Hey, you wanted criticism! I'm online a bit on AOL if you want to chat (Dedbug278) and you can email me for advice on Outlander, Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter, or just to chat. It's so hard to find Outlander efficianados, y'know? I'm currently a Sophomore in High School, But in the midwest. The only people I know in California are some cousins and my old Rabbi, Doug Kohn. I miss him so much. I'm always hungry for online chat, so email me when you get a chance! -Rebecca |
