Well, one of the reasons I like the story is due to its premise alone; rather than sticking to Kirby's Adventure / Nightmare in Dreamland, you've continued the story into the sequels of that game seamlessly. And at that rate, your interpretations of the characters and the execution of the work overall don't go into dark for the sake of dark. When Meta Knight is dealing with PTSD and paranoia (I wouldn't go so far as Schizophrenia), or Zero's self-destructing as Kirby tries to save him with love, or Marx is dealing with Infinity, it feels like it could actually happen if the anime or games ever got there. it doesn't get to the point where it feels like an Ash Betray fic where Kirby has to be super hardcore and be peeved at Meta Knight.
tl;dr There are adorable characters with tragic backstories that makes you want to hug them to cheer them up, just like your average Kirby game.

But wow... this puts that whole Waiu situation in an new context for me.

Oh crap, Meta Knight just said "fight me"! This is objectively the best fanfiction in Smash 4.

But yeah, that was pretty intense. Makes me wonder what other stuff is gonna happen in the future. I won't be making too many guesses though, I'll just be surprised.
