I would imagine that Hiko wouldn't let Kenshin slake off and let his skills get rusty so he would be
much stronger when the series begins.

As much as I like the idea of this story, I do have to wonder why in the world you also posted it under the name Dancing with Dragons and didn't change anything.

not sure if even hiko would be allowed to carry his sword without a lot of hassle because of the sword ban in the meiji era. he is strong and quick enough to get away with a bokken though (although probably wouldn't want to go without his 'winter moon'). it would be interesting to see the travels... and in a lot of ways amusing too. i wonder how the meeting with kaoru would go... especially if shishou and deshi were to separate just before the first interaction with hiko observing part or even all of the interaction. i wonder if they would stay after hiruma brothers were dispatched... i guess they would if kaoru had anything to say about the matter (after a while it might even give a reason for hiko to go back to his mountain). ;)

I really loved this twist on the story. It would indeed be interesting to see how Kenshin would have fared with Hiko with him.
