This is really good! I hope that you are alright, and if so that you haven't given up on this story, nor your others (not that I've read them myself). While I completely understand that such things happen, I still find myself hoping that you haven't lost all inspiration for this story at least, as it is really quite fantastic, if not tremendously sad as is. I wish you good health, I hope that school is going well, and I hope that your inspiration returns someday, cheers.

Firstly I really hope you feel better. I saw that you updated this story over half a year ago and I hope it isn't anything serious. Because second you're such an amazing writer and this story is just fantastic. I really hope you haven't dropped it. If you haven't and you feel up to it I look forward to seeing an update.

Okay, I have to start off by saying this- this plot? It's fantastic. It's heart breaking, it's edgy, it's completely and utterly unique, yet feels incredibly plausible, especially given the universe it's set in.
Hank feels in character and spot on, even more so considering it's the beginning of his life in politics. Alma is so cut but so tragic, but still incredibly believable. She feels like a real person; sheltered to the point of almost childlike innocence, which ironically she doesn't have because they took it away from her.
I also adore their relationship- her crush on him is so cute, but totally understandable. I imagine she doesn't meet many guys her own age, much less one's like Hank. I love that his passion isn't driven by something sexual, but rather a need to do the right thing; he knows she's not crazy and wants to help her because it's the right thing to do. I think that makes a really interesting point, not only about Hank's character but of how his and Alma's relationship will develop in the future because surely a gentleman like Hank McCoy wouldn't want to take advantage of an impressionable young girl fresh out of the mental ward (*Xavier smirk*)
I also like all the topical references that fit the time period. I also enjoy your prose and style, but honestly where you shine is the characters. They're so real and wonderful and yet flawed and fragile and it's so refreshing to see.
Anyway, I just wanted you to know you are doing a fantastic job and I will most certainly be checking in!

I love that Hank sees into her and immediately starts taking action. Even convincing Charles to help! Help her, Hank! Oh please!

No, no, no. She's not a schizo! Don't leave her in there, Hank! Please get her out!

Somewhere between Girl Interrupted and Shawshank Redemption and something entirely original, I found my heart breaking for this creature. To be abandoned by her parents like that make me furious for her. Hopeless entrapment and she sees hope. I shudder.
