I hadn’t expected to find such a good fanfiction like this directly on FF, and I’m glad I did. I love those concepts of Betlane, Im olc, etc.
I like how Harry is mature and strong enough not to let himself falter under Severus’ complicated personality. That he will always be wary, I don’t agree that much actually. I think Snape can come to trust Harry given enough time. He’s got years to mature and heal. Though he better really change in his ways of communicating... Memories are good, I like how Snape is explained through memories rather than words (as it is difficult for him), but he’s got to learn to be decent in his relationships!

Very grumpy Snape unable to express himself. That's quite something. Harry would have had to become a very very grown personality to deal with that. It's a fun concept. I did miss something, I must admit. In this FF there was a lot of time going by and we just saw a few situations. As nice as they were, I would have enjoyed to read more about the process, about their everyday life and how they got to the point of ... well the end (to spoil nothing). Surprisingly the most emotional part of this fanfiction for me was Harry's relaionship to Teddy :) Heartwarming!

Beautiful. Love all the different holiday ideas. Your depiction of Severus was well done with him being unable to communicate happy emotions very well but that doesnt mean that he does not feel love. Just a great story. Really well done how you went back and forth between past and present. The transitons were masterfully timed and flowed really well. Great job!

Wow, Harry put up with a lot of rejection. Or what he thought was rejection. Severus is Grumpy Cat! He is so layered and complex.

As I've said often enough I'm not into "Snarry" but I have to say my entire time reading canon I longed for Harry and Snape to have a relationship of some sort. It seemed like Rowling was building toward having them mean something more to each other than student with a hateful teacher. It broke my heart when Snape didn't respond more to seeing Harry's memories of being bullied. But then I was moved when Snape expressed his horror at what Dumbledore meant Harry to do. I guess I'm rambling. It's early in the morning for me and I'm operating off little sleep.

I guess I just always wanted them both to mean something special to each other. I don't really mean sexually as I never can see Snape as wanting anyone other than Lily or maybe another woman like her and I can't ever really see Harry being attracted to Snape. Well not when he's so grouchy from the start and not seemingly spontaneously. You've got other stories where they build up slowly and yeah, I can see the sexual chemistry.

But still, in this story I got to see them mean emotionally what I always thought they'd mean to each other if Snape had survived. I think they would in time, have forged this deep of a connection if Snape had lived. But I do think Snape would have been this grumpy about it all the way. I think you did a really excellent job giving them full closure on something that JKR was building toward in canon but took away via Snape's death: that emotional connection and deeper meaning to each other.
