Ah I like the chapter. I really prefer smoker the seme and ace the uke. Just fits better in my mind. Smoker is this hardcore man and it just seems right. I want to keep reading it because there aren't many new ace/smoker stories but smoker is really oc to me. Anywho until next time.

Ah, double Christmas update *sighs contentedly*

So, it finally happened. And Smoker survived. Oh my, he's growing up, all thanks to his lovely pirate :D
And to think that at first he wanted to run away! Oh, Smokey, you silly pretty princess, you — you don't try to escape from fights and certain death, but you want to escape from Ace's gentle, gentle clutches.
Seriously, even though I totally understand his awkwardness, there are times when he makes me want to bang my head against the nearest wall repeatedly because he fiercely refuses to see what's right in front of him.
But, he's learning — slowly, but he's learning, and this is the most important thing (character development, yay!).

Everything was so sweet it made me nauseous (literally, because I’ve been sick for three days now, urgh) and it was all very delicate and soft and, well, confused, but in a good way, because I think this conveys Smoker's nervousness, his confusion and his feeling of being overwhelmed very well!

The bathtub scene, just like the splash war, was cute, playful and very relaxing!
I have a question, though: can Devil Fruit users use tubs?

I like how Ace is the one... uhm... doing things, while Smoker basically lets him do as he pleases :3

All I have to say to this is: well, duh, princess. Took you long enough to realize that. Now onto the next phase: accept and embrace your feelings for Ace, Smokey!

As usual, there's an interesting mix of cheekiness, grumpiness and fluffy fluff, and when I say 'interesting' what I actually mean is 'Why don't/didn't more people write them like this?!' T_T
I've already said it like a thousand times, but I'll say it again because I can and because I think it's important: I love, love, love, love how you portray them! Both of them. Smoker isn't just a cold, grumpy, aggressive Marine in denial about his feelings, and Ace isn't just a cocky, shameless, reckless idiot who loves food and sex — they're so much more, they're multifaceted and complex, just like real people, and they're so, so beautiful *cries a river*

And their relationship is so, so beautiful as well!
In spite of everything, they're so adorably close, like they've been together for a very long time and got to know each other pretty well and in the process reached a lovely degree of intimacy (Ace calling Smoker 'babe' kills me every time, especially because Smoker doesn't mind one bit).

Anyway, back to this chapter.
Poor Smokey, what an embarrassing predicament he finds himself in. It's strange to see him so powerless, but it's also undeniably funny and endearing!
Also, the contrast between Ace — calm, teasing, and cheeky — and Smoker — struggling, squirming, and uncomfortable — is lovely!

And... Nathanial, uh? I've never seen anyone use that name for Smoker, but it sounds really nice and, uh, fitting, I think? Anyway, I always like it when authors take a guess at what his real name might be — the results are always interesting XD

I'm not sure if I like Chikao or not: he's mean to poor Smokey, which kind of prevents me from liking him, but he's also hilarious and he compares Smoker to Houdini and he's not afraid of him and he allows us to see scared!Smoker, which is something that doesn't happen very often, so maybe I do appreciate him, after all?

'Escape artist' XD I'm starting to see Smoker in a very different light...

I wonder how Ace would have reacted if he'd known about the prostate exam, even though he probably guessed it when he saw the lube which he stole because he's a poor, broke pirate :/

The last part, though. Everything is so cute and sweet it makes me wanna cry.
I always say that everything in you fics is cute and adorable (urgh, I should really find a synonym), but what I really like about your fics is that the fluffy parts aren't tooth-rottingly sweet or super-cheesy — everything is just very... natural? Spontaneous? And it makes me wanna cry (again) because they're soooo beautiful!

I love how blunt Ace is, and I love it even more because then he gets all sweet and caring but then he reverts to his usual teasing self and then... well, you get the picture. Just know that I love your Ace :D

'Mini Jutte' XD It does sound like a name Smoker would choose, to be honest...

Ah, it seems I'm not the only one who thinks Smoker would avoid 'check-ups' :)

Just so you know, I'm not even going to attempt to list all the things I like about this chapter because there are simply too many.

Anyway, I love the relationship between Smoker and his doctor, because that's exactly what I like about Smoker: he's cold and grumpy and serious, but he's fun, even though (or because?) he doesn't want to be! I especially liked all the excuses he makes up to avoid his doctor, and I think his fear is endearing. I love the seriousness with which he plans the diversion, it sounds like a life or death situation XD
Not to mention that he hates pirates, but look how nonchalantly he asked Ace to help him! It's unbelievable how incoherent he can be sometimes, especially when it comes to pirates, and Ace in particular.

The thought of Ace flirting with Smoker is fun, but the idea of Smoker flirting back is... I don't even know. It... makes me happy and giggly? And I have no idea why?
(In case you haven't noticed yet, yes, I suck at explaining how your stories make me feel. That's probably because I keep dying of cuteness overload, and I blame you entirely for that.)

I guess it makes sense that they need to be drunk to indulge in a little love-making, but I can't help but find it a bit sad. That's why I can't wait to read what will happen when they're both sober!

I really liked this chapter. It made me laugh and squeal, and I even have a favourite sentence! Needless to say, it's the one about Smoker getting lost we-know-where and ending up in Ace's heart instead (though the one about showering Smoker-tan with tenderness and affection is a close second). At first I was like, "OMG, only Ace could come up with something like that XD", but then I realized it was actually a very meaningful and heartfelt confession, and I kind of turned into a puddle of mushy goo (again) :/

I find your stories to be very calming. I think it has to do with Ace being so patient and caring, or maybe with Smoker being uncharacteristically calm and sweet. Either way, I like them!

The last sentence made my day, by the way.

I just want to point out a small mistake, though: there's a difference between 'then' and 'than'. In comparative forms, you have to use 'than' (for example, 'Ace was more than worried the next morning').

You sure like making poor Smoker sick! It's... kind of funny, actually, because for some reason sick!Smoker is even funnier than normal!Smoker (maybe it's because he bickers with his conscience?), but as always I hope he gets better soon :)
