I like that the reason for Merlin's great knife throwing skills was because of his experience growing up. Sometimes fics make him too Mary-sue by making magic the great answer to all. It also added depth to the story. I'd love to read more stuff like this :D

Great story & so true! Just because someone is useless at one thing has no relationship to their ability in other things. As we all know Merlin never learned to handle a sword because he didn't need it to defend himself!
