If you really believe that Mario is Mental video, I just wrote for my 100th story "Why Mario is innocent." Which shows that Mario isn't that bad a brother.

This is really good story so far and i am looking forward to more. In my personal opinion the best bit of your story so far is that while Luigi is jealous and angry with his brother and those who either ignore or look down upon him, he still does the best he can unlike some other stories i have read where characters in similar positions will turn into into a monster and have their personalities do a full 360 turning from the good guys into absolute evil villains.

You really know how to get Luigi haters under someone's skin, don't ya? When even the ghosts are more likeable than the people... and at least they have an excuse! (of sorts...)

It's very disturbing to find that your interpretation of this world is actually quite believable. Really, among the civilians that know about him, Mario is pretty much a god. And 'the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.'

Thinking about it now, everyone would have probably hidden away Luigi coming to his aid in Luigi's Mansion (though that'd probably be because Luigi wouldn't want to tell others and get praise) and in Mario is Missing (though that'd probably be because the game was crap...). I guess becoming a celebrity when you're a bro is a race- the public only care about first place...

I love that Luigi is altruistic enough to hand over the mansion he earned to the ghosts again, just to avoid unnecessary conflict and help the Toads. I can see this becoming one more straw to the last...

Its quite sad but I'm interested all the same

I love Game Theory, I love Matpat, but I hate both the Mario is Mental episode and Luigi blowing up fics. It feels so out of place for Luigi to be honestly angry or pent up, not when we see him do things like show sympathy for taxidermed animals or raise ypshi babies, he's far to kind to hold a grudge so venomously and he's far too humble and bashful to let the recognition, or lack there of, to get to him in such dangerously over the top ways. the Game Theory episode? Pat filled the episode with half truths and fan speculations to prove a point he'd thought would be good for an episode rather than talk about everything that occured between the two, not just the bad: When the Shroobs reappeared, Luigi told Starlow that he had stopped the invasion and saved everyone, but she just laughed in his face and praised Mario for stopping them when Luigi honestly had, but did Mario just let her? No, he got infuriated, told her off and confirmed Luigi's story and even made her apologize to him on the spot, not taking the false credit for a moment. Or in Superstar Saga, the two get separated in the University and Mario has to risk life and limb to save Luigi, and what does he do when they reunite? He doesn't tell Luigi off, he hugs Luigi and starts crying like a baby into his brother's shoulder, just thankful he's safe now, OR IN POWER TENNIS, THE GAME THAT 'PROVED' MARIO IS THE DEVIL...sorry, tad fired up, in the blooper reel he hits Luigi in the eye with a bad serve and while Wario, Waluigi, and the Camera crew laugh at Luigi's pain Mario is the only one to rush to his side and begins apologizing without missing a beat. That video...it's such a blemish on Game Theory's good name and it makes me so mad that so many people cite it as fact when it's full of little things that are all pulled together to make Mario look horrible because MatPat wanted a hot button video to put out when instead I look at it all and I still see that incredible man from before, the Italian plumber who was forced into being a hero by fate and embraced it with open arms, who is a rival to, but adores his baby brother, a man who extendeds a warm hand to anyone reaching out for help and tightens it to iron when evil rears it ugly face, I see one of gaming's truest heros. Mario isn't a egotistical monster to me, he's done so many selfless kindnesses in both the spotlight and while in private to believe any conclusion made by Game Theory about him or and Fanfictions like this where Luigi blows his lid. I'm sorry for such a rant, that episode just pisses me off so any time it's mentioned...

Moving on from that ugliness finally, while I didn't like the bitterness of the first chapter I really like the direction of the second, I still can't agree with the basis of this story or why Luigi toughens up, but I like how you do it, it felt very much in his character compared to the first, a very good direction in my opinion. Again, I can't believe in the Mario is Mental stuff, for me there isn't enough there for me to believe in the concept at all, so I'm not likely to come around again, bit you switch gears a bit and while it can't get me invested, I like it far more...

StephenThePlaystationDude- we've had the year of Luigi, but the 30 years of Mario, there's a reason he'd be 'jealous'. If you've seen Luigi's victory scene in Mario Power Tennis, you'll know how, even when Luigi shows his true potential, it's still undermined by an unhappy Mario.

Yes, Luigi has his games, but you don't expect Luigi would tell Mario something like 'Sorry, bro, you gotta look after the house for me when I'm- a gone', would you? Yet Mario practically keeps him home on that reason in Paper Mario! It's not about what adventures Luigi has- he could even have more than Mario- but the adventures he isn't allowed to have. I'd be jealous if people always described me in reference to my more popular brother, wouldn't you?

On-topic now; the conflict going on in Luigi's mind is great. Help or win? Public eye or the darkness? Is it good to feel fear? I always believed Luigi was the 'thinker' between him and Mario, and to see him wonder about whether being 'the brave hero' is all it's cracked up to be feels so real. Mario wouldn't need to think about it, he's been too glorified by the spotlights to notice how it feels on the outside, but Luigi would never be hasty and simply jump right in...
