Enjoyed the characterization and the willingness to be open with each other. (Sigh, a full season early.) Appreciated the idea of the book tour. Since when does RC not go on book tours?

I really like you opening Beckett up emotionally in this storyline. I hope to see you finish it.

This is exquisitely written. I have seen a few writers try to attempt a proper heart-to-heart conversation between Kate and Rick, where both of them put everything on the line for the other's benefit, their fears, apprehensions, the mistakes they have made and the chances they have missed. Of course, various writers try to attempt this conversation at different stages of their relationship/different timelines during the show's run, some manage to do a good job wrt the content and details of the conversation while others fall a bit short in that respect.
In my mind, this piece is one of he best I have read because of the comprehensive nature of the events you have chosen (I seriously can't think of more critical events that did/could have defined the way their relationship progressed) and the honesty that the characters have exhibited towards admitting their mistakes and explaining their POV wrt the decisions they ended up making at those junctures.
Another thing which makes this a wonderful piece is the balanced way in which you have been able to explain both the characters POV, without any prior bias (Which a lot of the writers end up doing sometimes subconsciously). Both the characters have been given a fair chance to say what is one their minds in a rational and logical manner, something that two mature adults looking to establish a long-term stable relationship would do. Their conversation just seems so natural and realistic, with both acknowledging the others' views while saying their own piece, something which happens rarely on the show and in only a few stories written for this fandom. As a reader, I get a comprehensive understanding of the characters' actions and can empathize with them, instead of thinking of one as the culprit and the other as a victim. Their misgivings and mistakes do seem genuine and you can see them coming out of this better.
Finally, every single one of the events they have discussed thus far, they seem to be in sync recognizing when it is their turn to fill the gaps and when to just listen and support. Not to mention, as I previously stated, they are owning up to the mistakes they made or the chances they missed on their own in each of those instances. And unlike what tends to happen in a lot of the stories, it is great credit to your understanding of the characters and the events, that you have perfectly judged which event corresponds to whose mistake, without any bias. Only some of the best writers in the fandom are able to achieve that and you deserve great kudos for doing justice to these characters.

Really enjoy this. But isn't it true that even without Castle's meddling or even his existence, Raglan would have made his "dying of cancer" confession, which is what lead to Kate being shot? I never understand why no one has Kate point that out to Castle in these discussions.
