This was a wonderful story! While I enjoy hurt!Jim a ton, this story is refreshingly original. So much hurt!Bones. I love it!

It's 4 am here so I'm nit all that awake but I still wanted to say that I like this story :]

I kinda guess that they were going to kill someone with the transporter once the goons caught them at the pad, but the result is much more horrific than I thought - I thought they were just going to beam her into nowhere or space.

Sneaking into a bar where they shouldn't be so they've told no one else where they are going.

Getting so drunk that senses are lost.

Leaving at 2 a.m. through the back and then cutting through an alley.

Egging on really shady guys.

TEENAGERS!

This is such a sad story! But I really like the backstory for Bones (my favorite character in the Star Trek universe). I enjoy all of your stories :)

Thanks for writing this as TOS. I think there is a lot more depth in TOS characters than the dark 2009 rebooted counterparts. Good explanation of why McCoy doesn't like transporters; had to be a painful experience in his past. Thanks.

Haha yea too many jim-centric stories I agree, i mean he is the captain and i love his character but i am also really glad with some bones stuff. Your stories are always great and give me my bones fix :D
also understand the moving on part, sometimes you can look past your sadness that someone has died and be grateful that they were alive

Poor Jo Anne... but overall, I like it. Finally, someone gives McCoy a backstory, especially tackling why he doesn't like transporters - witnessing a murder by body rearrangement would do that to you.

Good story, great writing. Nice to see a back story to explain some of McCoy's odd quirks.

Ah, you noticed that too huh? Also, Jim eats an apple once on screen - just once - and suddenly the fic world is alive with stories about Jim's apparent obsession with apples...! Give me strength.
This was a really interesting read and I thank you for adding some well needed variety to the fanfic trekiverse!
Plus Leonard McCoy has always been my favourite character. Can you believe JJ damned near replaced him with Uhura just so they could add the mandatory sex factor to the new movies? :-(

Honestly, I love how this all wrapped up so well. I'm enjoying the reboot-fic role-reversal going on here. I found this story both interesting and engaging. It's the kind of thing I'd like to see more of in reboot communities. Heck, it's the kind of thing if like to see more of anywhere! As always, excellent work!

OMG! That was wonderful! I agree with you that I don't mind Kirk hurt/angst in the reboot series but it is nice to finally see Bones be on the receiving end of some comfort. Bones puts up with a lot just being Kirk's friend and physician. I thank you for having the focus on McCoy. Do some more like this ok. Thanks.

Yeah - it is really only when you can remember and laugh about the past good times with somebody you have known who suddenly dies that you know you have moved on. You showed that very well with this.
