Great story, love the brotherly love !
flabirder chapter 1 . 6/26/2018
This is a very good story. It made me cry. Poor Adam. He's only 17 & all of a sudden he has to be father and brother to his younger brothers and run the ranch. I know that Ben is grieving the loss of his 3rd wife, but his sons are grieving too and need their father. I can't wait to read the sequel.
Neano chapter 1 . 9/20/2017
Excellent. Explains so much about Adam.
Guest chapter 1 . 8/22/2015
OMG what are you trying to do to us. Hop Sing finding the two boys in bed beside him, I was in floods reading that. Seriously, beautiful stuff, keep writing.
I hope Sheriff Coffee and Doctor Martin gives Ben what for and who began it for leaving Adam lol.
FieryQueenOfAllSharpObjects chapter 1 . 5/1/2015
That was very cute and sad!
Questfan chapter 1 . 4/1/2015
I love your description of Adam not quite having grown into the boots he needed to wear. Very apt for the genre and a perfect way to explain why he is so overwhelmed. The way others rally around and especially the way the two younger ones reach out to him almost made me cry. And then I just want to punch Ben! So maybe I'd better go and read the sequel.
Guest chapter 1 . 7/23/2014
love all the hurt/comfort/angst...and love them as youngsters...particularly little Joe...

looking forward to 'Those Who Remain'

Eclectic Butterfly chapter 1 . 6/2/2014
I love this. You've captured each one perfectly! I feel for Adam having to pick up the pieces and be the strong one when he needs to grieve. Ben has a lot to answer for.
BJ2 chapter 1 . 6/2/2014
I'm so happy to see you're posting the rest of your Bonanza stories! This was always one of my favorites too. Poor Adam. So much responsibility heaped onto one young, grieving kid. It's no wonder those words hit him so 't wait to read the sequel again. :-)
Guest chapter 1 . 6/1/2014
