rahleeyah chapter 10 . 6/1/2016
Oh god this fic broke me. Well done.
wolfdrum chapter 10 . 8/24/2015
This is one of the most powerful stories written about the death of Ruth and Harry's response to it. Just powerful.
Antonia Caenis chapter 10 . 9/7/2014
What a lovely way to end it, with some hint of redemption and forgiveness over the coldly bitter realisation that life moves inexorably onwards for the survivors, whether they want it to or not. And wise, wise Malcolm: we should all be so lucky as to have a Malcolm in our lives! I loved the Celtic touches at the end here, they seemed wholly appropriate both for the scene and the setting, the magnificence of Tintagel, always wild and slightly other-worldly, even on a beautiful day, with the restless, questing sea with its relentless assaults on those spectacular cliffs. Beautiful writing all round, congratulations!

Nice!
transmissionends64 chapter 10 . 9/6/2014
Well - I'm sitting here with tears streaming down my face. I'm so glad that all parties were able to comfort each other. Yes indeed, it is what Ruth would have wanted. I love your Malcolm so much! I'm glad Harry went to bed sober and hope he will reconcile with his kids, especially Graham and that Elizabeth could finally see that Harry and Ruth were meant to be together. Oh, it was just a beautiful story from the first word to the last. Thank you for an amazing read and I hope the next time you peel potatoes you get another wonderful idea for a story:).
Sir Gawaine chapter 10 . 9/6/2014
This was perfect. Everything from Tintagel - so Ruth and so Malcolm - to the Narnia quote and the Elizabeth-Harry hug and the Cicero being the reason that Harry felt able to go back...just perfect. Maybe my favourite chapter you have ever written!
NatesDate chapter 10 . 9/6/2014
My children are wondering why I have tears running down my face on such a lovely Saturday morning. This is a beautiful story, despite the sad subject, and I'm so glad you've shared it with us. Thank you.
Sparky75 chapter 10 . 9/6/2014
Excellent ending to a story that I've thoroughly enjoyed reading despite the sad subject matter. Very poignant finish and I'm glad that at the end Harry and Elizabeth were there for each other. Thanks for sharing and I hope to read more from you in the future
rosetintedblindspot chapter 10 . 9/6/2014
Brilliantly story and very moving. Sniff. Thanks for sharing.
r4ven3 chapter 10 . 9/6/2014
That's a very appropriate and believable ending. It is not happy as such, but to see Harry prepared to return to work, after having farewelled Ruth sits very well.
transmissionends64 chapter 9 . 8/10/2014
Pass the tissues again! Oh, that was just beautiful. So glad Elizabeth came to her senses and let Harry attend the funeral and that she finally recognised the love that he had for Ruth. Malcolm is a gem as always and the most gorgeous man on the planet (after Harry, that is). Nice touch with the other grid members and especially the "royals" involvement. It will be a real shame to see this story end but even though it's a very sad tale you've managed to keep some hope alive. Looking forward to how you wrap this up.
Antonia Caenis chapter 9 . 8/10/2014
Wonderfully evocative. The bit that almost undid me was Malcolm singing the Mozart - I adore both the Requiem and Malcolm so the two of them together, under those circumstances... And I for one enjoyed the participation of a couple of Royals, it's a little conceit that I can, actually, see them doing and both of them must certainly understand loss of that magnitude. Brilliant work.
r4ven3 chapter 9 . 8/9/2014
Royalty attending to the coffin - Ruth is well served in death. whilst I am not fond of massive amounts of detail in fanfiction, I did appreciate the detail of Harry and Elizabeth standing either side of Ruth's open coffin, and the realisation Elizabeth has when Harry places the wedding ring on Ruth's finger. That was a particularly poignant and telling moment.
NatesDate chapter 9 . 8/9/2014
That was one of the most beautiful and moving chapters I've ever read. I cried as Harry did and was relieved when Elizabeth reached out to Harry in acknowledgment of his pain. I did like pairing the thoughts to the funeral attendee as well. Thank you for sharing.
r4ven3 chapter 7 . 8/9/2014
I especially loved the HRH meeting - another child who lost a parent - and you handled this with a minimum of fuss ... as it should be. Strangely, I am enjoying the various expressions of grief - from Harry, Elizabeth, and Malcolm.
