I love this! The thought and care you put into your writing really pays off. It's so sad yet so true- if Snape admits he is worth something, then he really must be worth something! I don't find this version of Harry unlikely either. In fact I don't know how he wouldn't have turned out this way, considering his upbringing. I imagine a boy who is very suspicious when others are too nice to him, not unlike a young Snape, probably. I would love to see this evolve into a longer Severitus piece if ever your Muse is willing.
