| Wandering Lady chapter 1 . 5/12/2014 I was so afraid when I read 'Angst' - some of the fics going up... One has Regina's heart literally shattering... still reeling from that one. But this one. Well, you said 'Angst, with hope' and I agree. I'm in the UK and I was watching clips of the episode on YouTube today as the episode won't be shown for weeks over here. I watched the ending, and I have been distracted all day. I have torn through fics today. Some are grieving the relationship, many full of angst, many full of hope. Yours has felt very right. I loved the line: "Perhaps, it's just strong enough to withstand this approaching storm." It made me think of the imagery of all the storms that she has faced, everytime a curse has washed over her. The one she cast, the one when Henry drove away, that of Snow and Charming. And everytime it has been a storm, within her if not in the sky. The story in which her heart shatters speaks of how it is just too much, that her heart can only repair itself so many times. But I think you are right. It's just strong enough to withstand this approaching storm. I have written a few words in lots of reviews today, sharing a weird collective OQ emotion. It has comforted me everytime I read an angsty fic that the genre didn't prepare me for, or when I rewatched the ending. And I hope that we are both right. Pixie dust never lies. |
