Awwww... Sam's birthday! Considering his other birthdays, this WAS one of the better ones. LOL about the cake - Dean probably dropped it on the way to save his brother. But great wonderful story, love how you got into both Sam's thinking process and Dean's actions. Great job!

Ah brotherly love...I seriously miss this in some of the later episodes, it's nice to read a bit of angst and fluff with Dean caring for Sam...I keep meaning to get back into catching up on this show, the lack of brotherlyness in some of the later seasons made me a little sad...but this fic makes me kind of want to get back into it. If only so I can read more awesome fics to help remind me that the brotherly Dean and Sam are still out there ;) thank you for the wonderful read, it's nice finding an awesome fic that reminds me why I love this fandom so much after having been absent for a while...:)

Loved this story. Totally believable that there would be different Devil's Traps with different meanings and could so imagine Sam drawing some out of the floor, not knowing what would happen. Great ending and Sam preferring the vegetable tray with a candle rather than the birthday cake Dean had bought which did not survive him bringing too many items in from the car at the same time, though good job he did or he probably wouldn't have found his little brother in time.

This just made me so happy

poor Sam.. getting stuck in a "trap" that he was so sure was meant for someone "evil" must have been devastating.. especially considering that he unwittingly drew it around himself
