It was fun reading your very first Castle story. At the point where Kate leaves Rick for California with not much more than a kiss and an "I'm sorry." I couldn't help but think how similar that is to what has happened in season 8. Hopefully, as in your story, they will get back together - but quicker than 10 years!

I really loved the highschool part but Kate leaving him just like that was kind of weird, two teenagers in love would at least tried to make it work, stay in touch. And at the end it didn't change anything since he still fell in love Kyra, Meredith, had Alexis, Kate's mom died ...

Oooooo I love this. And I would be more than happy to read more from this universe if inspiration happened to strike :)

So, a) I can't believe that I haven't read this yet, and b) This was amazing.

I'm a huge fan of Flashlight, so I figured I would scope out the rest of your Castle fics and, while I'm usually pretty skeptical of high school AUs, this was wonderfully done. Great characterization for a younger Castle and Beckett and in general, and so, so lovely. Such an interesting contrast between the bumbling teenagerhood, and the clearly-older-but-still-fundamentally-the-same adulthood.

I know the story reads as pretty complete, but that doesn't preclude me from desperately wanting a sequel. ;)
