I think Itachi and Naruto could be great friends if they buried the hatchet. Naruto didn't kill Sasuke on purpose, Itachi was forced to do what he did, Itachi may have traumatized Sasuke but Orochimaru drove him crazy and turned him into a monster.

Both of them have at least to common enemies.

This was a good read. I particualrly like ensamble stories - it is one of the high points of the series, in my opinion, so this was very enjoyable.

On the technical side, a few errors (most notably a few missing or exess quotation marks and you're verses your, though not so much if at all in this chapter, which I ascribe to your beta reader - good decision, all of us do better with a second pair of eyes on the job!)
