I'm so glad I continued reading (thanks to your PM)! Although the reasoning of making Draco Head Boy is still doubtful (even in the eyes of other Hogwarts students, which you pointed out in some previous chapter) - it does make sense. I know tons of people in the manager's position who would have done some "show offing" stunt just like that :-).

Never understood why authors make Draco a Head Boy. That's the most illogical thing to do - for him being a Death Eater and all he must face trials and not being rewarded with the most prestigious position for a pupil in school. I understand that it's done for the sake of the plot - some sort of convention to make them (Draco and Hermione) to be closer to each other, but still... These sort of plots cause doubts in author's common sense and integrity.
Too bad. The start seemed like a decent piece of writing.

Have you ever been on a train in the UK? Maybe it's different on the Hogwarts Express, but those little compartments on British trains don't have tables and they don't have "backs". just two upholstered bench seats facing each other, seating six. If it's a whole prefects' CARRIAGE, then yes, there can be tables and a "back" area; the rest is open, like booths in a restaurant. I do love those old compartments, though; but they have not been used on regular trains in the UK for decades, though since the HE is an old steam train and the compartments have individual doors both inside and platform-side, it's clearly the exception.

Awwwww, so sweet! You know, this is the first after-the-war story where Draco is neither locked up, killed, or immediately forgiven. It's a lot more realistic.

Very good advise and working their way through prejudices. It is too bad that one set of prejudices get replaced with another. So glad that they are going to the ball together-it will help them all to move along.
